Unreal 2004

Is it me or is UT 2004 kinda boring? I just think the
original UT did it for me and still does. The latest
versions of UT 2003/2004 just aren't really that enjoyable.
And quite frankly playing the latest UT demo I just got
kinda bored. For a decent experience I personally prefer
Painkiller much more intense and satisfy. Whats all the hype
about this game?

Conquest in UT 2004 is VERY good.

but I do have to say the rest isn't anything new from the
original UT (or at least not an addition, imo), which raises
the question: why bother?

I agree. Essentially the gameplay hasn't progressed
massively. I would say its actually worsened. That said I
was playing it (UT2004) and seeing people scaling the walls
which seemed pretty cool but I don't know how to do that
yet. But basically I like playing the original but no one is
online playing it anymore.

on Unreal 2004 for shear fun and the gameplay is very easy
to get into.

no, have heard very good things about it.

I tried to run the demo and it crashed my non-existant
comp.
so I guess that's me out of the running.

WEll supposedly you can now drive vehicles, man turrets etc.
etc, but I can't be arsed cos I bought UT2003 which died
after 4 months not in the least thanks to the many bugs and
the news that UT2004 would follow up shortly. No online
players=no game which is exactly the trouble with
multiplayer based games.

You're joking. I put a thread up the other day and certainly
someone was enthusiastic about it (forget who). Oh man I
love it best game I've played this year and for a while.
Highly highly recommended. Presents a real challenge
especially on the different modes. I cannot big up this game
more.

But yeah I feel essentially the same as promo... the
Vehicles are awesome, but the maps leave something to be
desired and it really seems like the gameplay is a few steps
down from the Original... ahh what a masterpiece it was.

Onslaught mode is amazing... the vehicles are a bit
innovative too.

Let's just call it a spontanious case of impulsive obsessive
purchasing disorder. ;)

Its ok. I gave it another shot and got more into but to be
frank the original is the best. UT 2003 was good don't know
whether it bettered the original for sheer intensity though.
