Yes it is more easy to listen to. The italian ambiance is
very nice. There is one track featuring David Sylvian, who
sings.
The track titles are also nice :

rivers of sand
château rouge
city of light
onsra
circassian
onsay
the other face
transit
the point of it all
laguna
asusu
the stone of impermanence

Nice cover : Here
Duration : 51 minutes, a little more than Endless Summer

what 'choo talkin' bout'?! that's signature Jan Wozencroft
photography mofo!

this new one is nice... it's all about bein' beautiful and
it sticks closer to the drone than the glitch... which is
good because i think fennesz is better at the drone...

Its more classical and sombre sounding, yet still easier to
listen to and more commercial than Endless Summer. I
wouldn't like to say if it was better or not at this stage,
although on the first few listens, there are no tracks to
rival Endless Summer in the awesome stoner epic stakes.

As mentioned it´s alot more easylistening than his
earilier works.
Not an instant classic like Endless Summer but still very,
very good!

fennesz is one artist i need to check out. i take it endless
summer is the one to start with. any other recommendations?

i think this album is much better than endless summer...
certainly it is easier to listen to, because it is not so
glitched up... but in absence of this glitchiness this album
has more ideas, melodically, and more attention has been
paid to the textures, imo... i'll definitely be enjoying
this one for a while...

pretty much most of his output is worth giving a listen...
definitely the Return of Fenno'Berg... and there are some
really killer tracks on Field Recordings... the only thing
about that release is that many of the tracks at the
beginning are from his first release... but a lot of the
later tracks, as well as the very first are niiice

Now this is a prroblem, I have a speck of dust on the left
lens in my glasses. I can follow thrree majorr and most
apprroprriate courrses of action, each with the possible
positive rresult of having a clean lens orr otherr negative
rresults.

The firrst would be to use the jumperr that I am wearring to
rremove the speck and rrisk crreating an even and mild
smearr overr the full surrface of the lens. Rrisk factorr:
9.

The second option I have is to use my fingerr to push orr
possibly dab the dust parrticle frrom the lens, which may
rresult in leaving a larrgerr and more definite marrk on the
lens. Rrisk factorr: 10.

The thirrd option (and prrobably the strrongest contenderr)
is to walk to the sink and clean fully, the lens, underr the
tap while also postponing the impending ‘wash date’ by a
week. Rrisk factorr: 4.

Thing is, I just don't know.

Mmmmm, it's good. Probably as good as endless summer - I
haven't decided yet. Third listen through, hearing new
things, keeps my ears and eyes open.

interview

“if this is any help, I use Max/MSP, Reaktor, Logic, GRM
Tools, Kontakt, FM7 and Soundhack.”

Yes! Now we just need to get those softwares and we can all
be Fennesz! XD

What choo all think of the David Sylvian vocal track? I
think it works really well - maybe the best thing David has
done since Gone to Earth. I wanna hear his new one, Blemish,
which has Fennesz on one track.

The only time I listen albums like these are when I'm going
to sleep. I would only recognize the first 2 tracks of this

I bought this from forcedexposure but they haven't sent it
out yet. I think they don't like me because the last time I
ordered I overdrafted my bank account by 54 cents. :(

Great album, though I'd put it somewhere just under Endless
Summer... for the time being. I like the convoluted glitch
on that one.

music that has excited me the last few months:

- Captain Beefheart (especially "trout mask replica" and
"shiny beast")
- The Books - "the lemon of pink"
- The Notwist - "shrink"
- Steve Reich - "the four sections"
- Steve Reich - "sextet"
- PJ Harvey - "uh hu her" (well, only hear teasers, but
still..)
- dEUS - "my sister = my clock"
- dEUS - "the ideal crash"

there are more, but this is what I can think of off the top
of my head off of.

Do you have some dEUS files to share on slsk? All I can find
on their site is live stuff with very bad sound quality.
Unless that's the point and I am missing it again.

i got this today and i am enjoying it. i'm not too big on
the david sylvian track though. or any of the tracks after
that. everything up until that track is very nice,
especially the opener. i went for a nice little skate today
whilst listening to this with headphones.

- real moody stuff. I have a soft spot for David Sylvian.
I'd fuck him if he was a boy. I mean, if he wasn't a boy.

I advise the album "in a bar, under the sea" or "the ideal

both quite different.
