ive been assigned to do a music video for my video class at school, and, needless to say, i got a bit ambitious. so i wrote a script for the video, and wanted to see what all'o'y'all think about it, so here it is. Short film/Music Video Script Written by: Nils Weedon Music: Venetian Snares – in quod Actors – Nils A: White undershirt, basketball shorts, no shoes or socks Nils B: Dark clothes, dyed hair, sunglasses, chains, etc. Music begins with swelling synthesizers. Nils A wakes up and crawls out of bed. His room is slightly lit due to sun shining through the window. He stumbles through an averagely messy room and sits down at his computer. On top of his desk there is a note written on a piece of white printer paper. It reads, “Don’t forget to take your meds. Love, Mom.” Nils B is upstairs in the bathroom rummaging through cabinets. The lights in the bathroom are low. It can be seen that it is night outside because there is no light coming through the window. He pulls out a pill bottle and empties all of the pills from it. He then takes some similar looking pills from a plastic baggie that was inside his pocket and puts those pills into the pill bottle. Nils B then places the pill bottle on the bathroom counter. Nils A is back at his computer. He takes the note and crumples it into a little ball and throws it in the trash to his left. As he looks back at his computer, he can see a manila folder, which he picks up. Nils A reclines in his chair and opens the folder, which contains numerous loose pieces of paper. He quickly leafs through the papers and puts them aside in top of the folder. Nils A then gets out of his chair and walks upstairs to the same bathroom that Nils B was in earlier. He picks up the pill bottle with the fake pills in it and takes two and swallows them. As he leaves the bathroom, he hits his head on an open cabinet door. |

The music picks up with extremely fast breaks. Throughout the rest of the video all of the cuts are very fast and random images relating to Nils (A and B) are shown sporadically. Nils B wakes up from the same bed, fully clothed in the same clothing as before. He runs out of the room and up the stairs. Nils A seems very confused and slightly disturbed. He can sense that something is not right. He turns around to face the stairs and sees Nils B running up them. He immediately turns and runs back into the bathroom, where he locks the door. The door shakes violently as Nils B attempts to get in. Outside Nils B is shaking the door and looking frustrated. He then stops, and closes his eyes in deep concentration. Inside the bathroom, Nils A can see the lock on the door slowly turning on its own and looks even more frightened. Once the lock is opened, the door swings open to reveal Nils B grinning sadistically. Nils B lunges at Nils A, but Nils A ducks and runs out of the bathroom and back downstairs into his room. Inside the room, Nils A is frantically throwing things around, looking for something with which to defend himself. As he is rummaging through his room, he hits the papers from the manila folder and then fly up and scatter across the floor. Nils A finally finds a lacrosse stick with no head. He stands in his room, wide stance, brandishing the stick in both hands, ready for Nils B. Nils B calmly walks towards the room, but stops at the doorway. Nils A looks confused, but takes a swipe at the air with his stick, to signal to Nils B to stay back. Nils B simply smiles. A voice saying indistinct words is heard in the music. Nils B opens his mouth. Nils A lets go of the lacrosse stick and clams his hands over his ear in pain. As Nils B stands there laughing at Nils A’s weakness, Nils A sprints towards the other door in the room into the basement. |

He scrambles over junk, which is in his way towards the stairs in the basement. Before he ascends the stairs, he looks back to see Nils B standing behind him, grinning maniacally as usual. Nils A runs up the basement stairs. Nils A grabs keys from the mantle piece in the living room and runs towards the door to get outside. He also puts on a pair of shoes, next to which are the same shoes that Nils B is wearing. As he turns the corner to the door, Nils B is standing in Nils A’s way. Nils A then turns and runs towards another door on the other side of the living room. He swings open the door and runs outside onto the deck, where Nils B is waiting for him. Nils B twitches random body parts, and Nils A grasps each body part that is moved in pain. He lurches towards the railing on the deck and jumps over and falls into dirt and bushes. Nils A scrambles towards his car and gets in. The music subdues. Nils A tries to turn on the car, but it refuses to start. As he is turning the key and slamming on the gas pedal, he looks around in fright, trying to see where Nils B will come from next. Finally, the car starts and Nils A backs up and drives out of the driveway. As Nils A drives, he is still looking over his shoulder to try and find Nils B. Nils A pulls into a parking space at the Salem Willows, near Naumkeg, and turns to find Nils B laying down in the back seat. Nils A gets out of the car and runs towards a hill with woods. He looks back and sees Nils B following him. He frantically climbs up the hill through overgrown plants as Nils B follows without difficulty. As he is struggling, Nils A slips and hits his head on a rock. The music climaxes, and then dies into similar synthesizer melodies as the beginning. Nils A is seen lying still on the ground still. As Nils B stands over him, he suddenly grabs his forehead in pain, and starts stumbling. |

Flashbacks occur, recounting what has just happened, along with other images. One is the papers from the manila envelope. As the images continue, the images of the paper are closes and more distinct. As the music ends, one paper can clearly be read. It says, “Subject suffers from extreme multiple personality schizophrenia. Immediate medication is necessary.” At the very end, shots of both Nils A and Nils B lying on the ground lifeless are seen. Fade out on Nils A’s lifeless face. Music fades out. *phew* |

i'm doing a promo for my college tv station. i'm using aphex twin's remix of his AFX song - titled remix (26 mixes for cash). the one with the knight riderish feel. 1) what i'm doing is showing a clip of the sun going down past one of the university's monuments. 2) i show two kids (probably my friend and i) watching this particular station i'm doing the promo for. dark room, faces illuminated only by the light flashing from the tv. evil grins a la possession from tv. 3) cuts to shots of the machines at the station - the monitors, the cameras, transmitters and such (effects: polarized and black & white - to make it look scary [adobe premier]) all cut to the two different themes you can hear in the music. 4) random shots of the two kids (after possession) doing bad things as if told to by tv. jumping on cars, breaking stuff, hurting people, etc. 5) cut back to machines. basic idea: the television corrupted its watchers. and then, voice-over advertising the very station supposively doing the corruption. i wonder if the station will accept it. any thoughts? |

thats a really cool idea, i cant rememeber which song youre talking about exactly, but its a pretty wild idea. can be turned into either a really scary video, or you could make it kinda funny so it wouldnt be making the tv station out to be such a bad guy :P |
