3 hours a day... and he's been in perfect shape his whole life... I'm not knocking him for being healthy, but it's really unnecessary how he goes about it. He's got some kind of fucked up image about himself where he feels like he's really skinny even though he's fucking RIPPED. It's really weird, he's actually very embarrased about having his shirt off and won't even do it.. One time some drunk girl ripped his shirt off and he got really mad and embarrased and went to his room and didn't come back out... We try to get him to not go (to the gym) sometimes so he'll actually hang out with us, but that shit never works. Is there something like reverse anorexia? Cuz I think that's what my friend might have... =\

You put on weight with exercise.
You see yourself every day and don't notice gradual change. When I lost weight I couldn't tell I was loosing anything but people would keep asking if I was ok and saying how slim I looked but I couldn't see the loss myself. I didn't expect that at all, maybe that works in reverse too?

Perhaps he genuinely likes working out? Weights bore the hell out of me, but I'd still go swimming even without the health benefits.

There is actually a condition called biggorexia or something like that. It is a genuine condition (I'm not pissing about) where people feel they look weedy and out of shape even when they have muscles on muscles. There was a major case of an 18 year old who died in the UK because he was exercising in the gym too much and his heart eventually gave way.

it could be, but I highly doubt it... he's told me before about how he gets like 3 reps into his set and is thinking "i don't want to be here anymore"
haha, he's a lazy stoner.

it's like what arnold said in pumping iron: "every time i work out i feel like i'm cumming, and then chicks see my muscles and i feel like i'm cumming all day"
future president anyone?

maybe your friend's working out is like jacking off to us average people. dig what i'm saying here: so we all like to jack off, but it's kind of like a guilty pleasure ya know? we don't like to let tons of people know about it... so transform that onto your friends problem... he likes to work out, but he feels guilty about the pleasure he gets from working out, so he doesn't like people knowing that he works out.... what your friend lacks is confidence, he needs to feel good about working out, just like all of us, if we really enjoy whacking, should feel GOOD about beating off! think about if you could proudly say to yourself and others, "I beat off today!" and then receive high fives all around the room like it was some sort of accomplishment.
i wonder if there is some sort of corelation between masterbation and drug addiction?
-peace out

Both are linked to endorfins. Opiates (that are mainly responsible for chemical addiction) produce high dossages a substance (among others) called endorphin from the human brain. Endorphin works mainly as a painkiller. The same thing occurs with functions ,like masturbation and sexual intercourse with another hu-man at their peak. An orgasm is in fact due to the simultaneous release of a large dose of endorphins (a very small fraction than the one released by opiates of course). Oh endorphins are also released with the consumption of chocolate hence some people's addiction to candy and stuff.

maybe he just likes working out and is also very self-conscious... you can be buffed, and still self-conscious...
for example, I'm hot, but I'm also very shy and self-conscious! ;)
