CARTEL

this is the name of a modern shop in madrid, very stylish

they asked me to burn a cd compilation for them for an event
they are organising

this is the second time I do this for them the first time I
chose some razcynski, ovuca, radiohead, autechre and boc

now I made this compilation:

what else do you recomend?
(see the style I am trying to give to the event)

I don't know any of those tracks so you are better off
describing the style you want for me..

Personally, i'd ditch the two DMX tracks...theyre not his
best.
All the other tracks seem cool.
Have you thought about maybe adding some Boards of
Canada..."Music is math" or "ROYGBIV" perhaps?
Also, i'd reccommend another couple of chris clark
tracks...maybe "Rob Lee"or "Shonny"
Oh, and what about "My Red Hot Car" by Squarepusher...
I reckon they'd be kinda suitable for a shop.

try a little variety! all the artists you've chosen are so
mainstream IDM

"mainstream idm"????
it IS a shop after all.....i also work in a shop and
anything that seems to abstract normally gets turned off as
soon as i put it on...

I just choose among the cds I have... and I am very
mainstream as you know

Do they want IDM? Just curious.

not every virtually unknown artist is "abstract"! just
because theyre not signed to warp doesn't mean theyre not
listenable in a shop!

as I said the first time they liked what I chose (razcynski,
ovuca, radiohead, autechre and boc)

so I wanted to change a bit but inside idm

after all they trust in me, as they called me to do it
again

the mood I have chosen is not questionable, thats what I
want, but I accept more recomendations just as
WeaklingChild, exxailon and happy cycling did

anyway I am looking forward to reading dobbin´s
recomendations, as I pretty much trust his taste, and that
he does understand what kind of mood I want for the "event"
