I stayed up for 5 days straight during my finals in arch 10.
It felt like I was in jello. my reaction times were slow and
the only thing i could think about was sleep, yet somehow i
managed to finish my model and presentation

I did fall asleep for a few minutes here and there though...

Ugh, sleep deprivation is awful. Three days after some
industrial strength speed, and i felt bad. About 5 days when
i was so ill all i could do was evacuate my body from every
orifice, never mind sleep... that was a lot worse.

do an activity that you are passionate about and know that
you can have great longevity participating in it

coffee never has done anything for me....Red Bull just makes
me go hyper

i think producing electronic music might just be the best
method then.

ain't THAT the truth? It was terrible for me as well, but
didn't notice until the following evening after i had slept
- i had absolutely NO energy.

That works actually. I regularly only notice it's like 6am
when i finish a painting or a mix or something.

I have gone for about 4 days but that included two night of
going to clubs, on the fifth day I was throwing up
everywhere and I couldn't stand...even worse was that I
couldn't get to sleep...I honestly thought I was going to
die.

The worst thing is the constant shaky limbs. The world looks
a lot different too, like nothing is quite as "real"
as it was before.

who have stayed up all night on their consoles and shit
playing games and stuff

i guess your body needs to dream so as you go about your
days without sleep you start to "dream" while your awake;
suddenly thinking your on mushrooms.

warning: sleep deprivation may turn floors into liquid

i actually remember writing an ambient track while drifting
in and out of consciousness, and the music seemed to
influence my consciousness. I'd nod off, see a dream, then
that dream would slowly metamorphosize into reality - and
the fucking track i was writing was almost like a soundtrack
to it. So fucking crazy.

regardless of whther you're clean or not

hahaha, yeah that's true...

smogk ---> grass makes me creative and "thinky" but hash
makes me mong out on the settee and go very sleepy. Oddly, i
never dream if i've been smoking a lot.

i don't usually stay up just for the "fun" of it..
it'll just end up happening, because i'll feel really bad
about something, or be anxious/scared about something that
will occur the next morning. i'll end up just watching the
numbers on the clock increase as i think endlessly.
sometimes it will get to the point where it feels like my
body is basically asleep but my mind continues thinking in a
half-conscious state. ..where i am not actually dreaming,
but it seems like there's some subtle "visualisations" to
what i am thinking about.. and what i am thinking about
isn't exactly clear or possible to describe, or really
possible think about in a rational way as it happens.. after
a few nights of that, i can't really function well and start
to feel almost "dyslexic" in my speech, writing, and general
thoughts. like the elements of my thoughts can't be combined
to form a cohesive whole, and i get the lingering feeling of
deja vu. like i've had the exact same indescribable feeling
of not being able to remember or categorise the feeling that
seems so real and tangible.
i'll shut up now.
