Two more new tracks

Since Yojimbo was met with general dislike.

Two new tracks

Gondola of Love is my attempt to be more melodic, though no
one will probably agree with me. Warning: There are lyrics.

Frantic Footsteps is a return of 8-bit melodies for me, and
the beat work has a bit more subtlety to it. Then again,
maybe not.

All criticism welcomed.

Beat programming is good as usual in 'our gondola of love'.
Just needs something else with the sounds just sound too
dry. Nice build up with the drum programming.

the vocals in gondala of love reminds me of Dad by Vsnares.
Your beats sound a lot more complex than they used to. Are
you using samples or are you programming a sequencer or
whatnot?

the beats are actually a bit more sequenced now - rather
than using a drumset, i took a beat, cut it into four parts,
and used those bits for the drumkit. glad you enjoy it! :D

Frantic footsteps - really old school NES sounding in the
melodies, which i like. the track's melody is fairly simple,
but just enough to be interesting to me in that video-game-y
sort of way. the beat-work complements the rest of it
nicely, and is interesting to listen to. though the wide
frequencies of the percussive sounds seem to drown out the
melody, especially the lower notes of it, at certain times,
maybe it is just because of my bad speakers, and i guess
that is sort of unavoidable because of the
non-cutting-through sound/nature of the simple
square/triangle/etc wave sounds. maybe next time a bit of
EQ-ing on the 8-bit sounds could make their presence a bit
more palpable at certain times where they seem to be drowned
out by the other sounds. i like how the beat changes up and
goes off into somewhat different changes and tangents, the
melody could benefit from doing the same after a bit. it
seems to only gradually build up in intensity and thickness,
but it seems like the intention of this track is a sort of
sped-up sounding beat-bludgeoning with a nintendo or atari
or something backing it up, seeming fairly soft in the
background at times. when i listen to this, i imagine a
lonely nintendo lamenting, only a bit later to be joined by
a few more nintendoes and a giant donkey kong-type character
happily bashing out distorted breaks on a
suddenly-more-than-8-bit trap-set.
the ending is a little weird. it kind of threw me off.. it
gave me that sort of windows-sound-recorder vibe, where it
has that unique sort of digital-hiss in the background.
that's not really a bad thing, but i don't know how much it
fits with the rest of the track but it was interesting and
unexpected.
nice work. your work is improving.

When the intro for gondola started i wasnt too impressed,
but when vocals and beat kicks in round 1.00 it started to
get nice, the one note bass line is really effective, i
think the drums could do with a bit more power tho, but
overall great structure. PS is that your own voice or
samples

The start of frantic footsteps reminded me of some NES
classics, good melodies, hi hats are particularly good. In
my opinion i think the NES sounds should have been left at
the start and end, with a stronger synth thru the middle.

Gondola of love was my fav
