Speaking of dance artists I respect... what do you guys
think about Hybrid?

Finished Symphony is fantastic in my opinion, very well
done, their album is like Delerium meets breakbeat, very
nice stuff.

i have the wide angle lp.
it has some very good tracks, but i find it works best as a
whole. they play a dangerous game with all the vocalists &
overblown drama of the russian orchestra - but they pull it
off by and large.
the special edition that i have has a bonus cd. most of it
is a live recording, but the tail end compiles some of their
12" that were released before the album. kill city has a
particularly fat synth line. kid2000 (ft. chrissie hynde)
has a nice string loop too.
generally, im of the less is more school - i prefer subtlety
+ texture to sheer boombastics - but i do like this hybrid
record. i know its intended to.. but strip the vocals off
the tracks & it really could be a film score.
the instrumentals have reater longevity than the vocal cuts
in my opinion.
nice cover image too (the girl with the distorted face, shot
through wide angle).. very reminiscent of cunningham's
playstation ad.

whats their latest record like though? didnt hear much about
that one..

Great track that is. Also in the game SSX Tricky......there
are a few versions of it. Great stuff.

Wide Angle is one of my all time Favourites. "Morning Sci
Fi" however sucked, its because that other guy left the
band...to bad...

If you like Hybrid, check Burufunk

Hybrid is great! Wide/wider angle and remixes are very
valuable to listen, morning sci-fi is nice too, best one is
'true to form' i think. Hybrid is described as being
breakbeat band, most of their songs could be.. but those
orchestras and instrumental thingies makes me happy oooh
explosion! I love finished symphony!1

everything he does sounds exactly the same. you have one
remix you have them all.

wide angle is a fucking amazing album. i actually like
morning sci-fi a little more though.

hybrid has definitely re-invented the word "catchiness".
