Yeah bitches!!! went to the merzbow gig last night and it caned. first act was cat hope (local freestyle rock noise): she rocked out on a noisy bass guitar and in parts played it with 2 violin bows which sounded kick ass. then after the break, masami strolled out and motioned to another guy to help him move his equipment table so he could get behind it. he then fiddled around with one of the processing machines for a couple seconds and then sat down. This focussed look crossed his face and he opened his 2 lap tops and proceeded to belt out some of the best noise i've heard ever which seemed to be based on his machine themed albums and went for a good solid hour with no breaks. (yeah) the look never left his face and he hardly moved at all until he moved to a random bass note in the middle of the set, and a little later to a high pitched rip. The only time he moved other than that was when he pulled out some headphones to get really intimate with his creation. He rocked out for such a long time, but saved the best part for last. In the last maybe 30 seconds of his set, he let rip with the most deafening sound and it was all bass baby, to the point where you feel like your ears aren't working anymore. then left us with that to ponder for a while before whitehouse came out. and what can i say about whitehouse except for '80's british punk noise sucks. MERZBOW OWNZORZ PERTH BAYBEE!!!!!! |

yeah they did that line of poetry with the chlorine gargle and the shitpaste, etc. etc. but yeah, i was just off the back of the dance floor sitting on the ground near a table slightly towards the bar side. been a no poster lately cos my bios needed flashing, so the start of this thread was from a mate's comp. |
