Do you want to share exactly what you are suffering from?

You can probably get another organ of equivalent value. Ever
fancied having two oesophagi? Ask your doctor about this.

spontaneous pnumothroax (spell?)

2nd time, 1st in august 03
put a couple chest tubes in my to releive pressure inside
lung and build it up
then let the hole heal on its own

said if it would happen again it wold be in the next yr

6months later
happene again
was a real smal hole so instead of putting in another tube
they let it heal on its own so im still kinda leaking but im
home now

trying to hold out till spring breka (1month away) to get
surgury
gonna be hell.

Do they have any idea what causes the pneumothorax? Didn't
they run tests? I guess they know better... Does it happen
on one lung only?
Anyway the collapse must be terrible but I don't think your
life is at risk. Always remember that man can survive with
only one half of a lung in his chest if its working
properly.

its spontaneous, man. happens outa no where

and the 1 lung is incorrect.

i can hardly breathe with 1 lung down

its not like kidneys

I know... I was just asking if the holes were on the same
lung everytime. By any chance are you suffering from the
Marfan syndrome-am I being to nosy maybe-? The other stuff
about the half of a lung has effect when the rest has been
removed or there is no collapse. Maybe you are too thin...

there are these little blisters on your longs, called blogs
ors omething like that, cant remember.

if you get em
and they pop
thats whta caueses the tear in your lung to thus, deflate.

what happened teh 1st time is they put this real small tube
in my lung to even out the pressure with the outside world
(1 ATM) thus the lung would inflate and stay inflated by the
machine.

Once time is given for the hole to heal on its own, you are
removed from the machine and see if the lung stays up on its
own (by xrays)
if so, then the chest tube is taken out and yer good to go.

wel the "small one" back in auguest (1st time) didnt work so
they put the big guy in (tube was about as thick as your
thumb..its fukin huge)

and that hurt...wow....weird shit.

this time the hole (different hole ) was so small that it
would be worse to try and put a tube in there, instead to
let it try and heal on its own

next day if its biger hole then go str8 to sugury

but mine got smaller so they let me go home
so im gonan try and stick it out till spring break so i dont
miss school

elusive ... if that's straight up, you have all my best
wishes getting well ... that's some hardcore shit ... andrea
parkers lung collapsed too a couple of years ago whilst she
was driving ?? i have had some bad chest shit but nothing
like that, after miami last year i ended up coughing up alot
of blood from down there, they did some x-rays and it looked
ok they assumed it must have been a pressure thing on the
flight, hopefully i'm cool it only happened mildly the next
time i flew and not since ... i feel for you tho ... good
luck !! hope it all goes well for you ...
