I Think I Have Testicular Cancer

Hey any medics in the house??

I think I've got t.c. 'cause I've got this lump on my nut
sac.. except it's not really attached to either of the balls
so I was thinking 'Wouldn't it have to be on one of the
balls for it to be testicular cancer?' I'm almost certainly
going to the doctors but I was wondering if anyone could put
my mind at ease?

simple, you have a third ball

well you should! there shouldn't be a lump in it! i don't
think it has to be attached to a ball. But i don't think a
lump means cancer in the first place.

There are a lot of things it could be. Odds are you have a
blocked vein or tube which can cause a swelling or a
cyst...obviously you have to get it checked out as soon as
possible, but odds are it is something easily treatable.

still though, if you think it may be something serious you
shouldnt be messing around at a message board, let the doc
ease your mind.

Have someone do a testicular exam on you.

Probably not work safe...

Testicular cancer is always attached to the testicle, it is
usually thicker than the testicle and maybe it has a rough
surface. Does it hurt when you touch it? Is it thick. Is it
stable or does it move easily when you touch it. Is the skin
red above it? Do you notice something else for example
swelling in the bubonic area?

A few years ago I thought I had the same. I have a small
lump on one of me cherries. I got an ultrasound scan (wasn`t
that bad as some nice looking female doctor applied cold gel
to my sac), and it turned out to be nothing but a harmless
cyst. I panicked because these stupid mens magazines like
FHM give you inaccurate advice, telling you that yer testis
should be as smooth as a hard boiled egg, which is total
bullshit.

Saying that, I`ve got 2 friends who got twisted testis and
had to get an operation to save them so I would advise
strongly to go to the docs.

When your testicles are twisted it hurts like hell. I had an
operation for that when i was 13.

Seems like it probably isn't cancer, and even if it is,
testicular cancer is easily curable when it's caught early.
At least that's what the little thing hanging in my shower
stall tells me.

The worst thing that can happen is to remove it surgically
if it goes on growing bigger. But it is not malignant and it
probably won't ever bother you at all. You are sure that you
see no inflammation on your scrotum right?

offline plaidzebra from so long, xlt on 2004-01-28 20:50 [#01052881]
Points: 5678 Status: Lurker

if it's attached to the loose scrotal tissue and not the
testicle, it is very likely a small lump of benign scar
tissue and will either stay as it is or slowly dissolve over
a few years. generally these are painless. this can happen
at a hair follicle, or can be the end result of a tiny
infection, like a pimple, that you might not have noticed.

however, you absolutely should get your ass into a doctor's
office immediately. i've known people that ended up having
to have a testicle surgically removed due to cancer. it's a
difficult situation not only physically, but
psychologically. the sooner it's checked out the better.
