i love her debut and vespertine albums. i only have like 2
more (not sure which ones) as im not the biggest fan. i
bought greatest hits the other day and am listening to it
for the second time and it's really a great selection of her
songs...so i was wondering if you're all happy with selected
songs? do you think these are her best?

I don't know... what's on it? Too far behand in my Bjork
purchases.... I remember a time when I'd buy a release the
day it came out. *sigh* Those were balmier days when I had
enough money and time to spend it. *reminisces*

Nope, "It's Not Up to You", "Cocoon", and especially
"Unison" should have been included.

it was probably also before bjork decided to really start
saving up for retirement by releasing everything ten times
in ten ways in ten colors....

That looks more like a singles collection than a
greatest hits. Still not bad though.

Well, if you already have Debut and Vespertine, you already
have her 2 best albums.

surely for a track to be a 'hit' in its own right (depending
on how you define 'hit') it needs to be a single, so that it
is possible for it to be recognised + championned in its own
right outside of the context of the album.

maybe..?

best bjork lps:

homogenic
debut
vespertine

post has hyperballad - which is one of her best tracks. but
most of the rest of the album isnt consistent enough for
me.
selmasongs - worked in the context of the film, but i dont
put it on often.
the jazz lp she did with the ingolfur gudnasson [sp.] trio
while she was still with sugarcubes is pretty good too.
though not her own material.
