A new Sanguine track for you

Sorry for keeping my stuff offline for a while, but I
assure you the EP that will be produced will be some of my
best work and should be done by the summer. I've gone
through maybe 5 or 6 tracks in the last month and a half
with all the hectic stuff that has been going on. Man what a
month. I've been busier than ever before.

The EP will be free for all and there is a good chance it
will be pressed on Vinyl. I'll update here as soon as more
stuff comes to light. The project taking the rest of my time
is working with a conductor in the area to compose and solo
with an orchestra in the area, electronic/DJ + orchestra...
it will be amazing. But onto the track:

Name 2

This is some downtempo jazzy stuff I worked on last night
and thought you guys might like it. The real title won't be
revealed until this album is done and the track might change
by the time I put it out. I'm writing a song for each of my
friends that I'm close to trying to capture their essence in
music.

As always, comments are much appreciated and I'd be happy to
exchange some reviews... peace!

(and my homepage if you want some more older tracks)

Course, always glad to give reviews...

Warming Silver: Good soundscape, very steady beat and
feeling to it. Low on the volume side, but that's just a
mastering dealy.

The modulation on the white noise sounds good, works well
with the second pad. I keep waiting for a little more
progression since the drums came in so quickly, the energy
of the track stagnates a little until the vocals come back
in. I'd say don't have the drums come in so heavily so
quickly or have it progress into something else before the
half mark and the vocals come in, maybe a simple melody with
a new instrument or some new modulation?

The first vocal sample I like, fits in quite well. The
looped one a bit later doesn't feel quite as in touch with
the rest of the piece. Got a good foundation but it doesn't
flow quite as nicely.

I like the detuned bass notes after that, good touch.

Nice stuff, would like to hear it after you take some time
with some mastering, think it would kick up the track a lot

Black Soul Drip:

Cool guitar loops, this sounds much better overall than the
other track. The drum sounds work really well. Gets a little
repetitve. You add so much in the beginning, so many quick
changes and them seem to have trouble knowing when to
progress or bring back in elements from before. Same thing
with the previous track, this one flows a lot better
though.

I know you've got more to say in that track, will be
interesting if you tack some more onto it, or where it would
go in a mix

I've never listened to any of your stuff before but I've
heard good things about it on this board, so I'm listening
to Name 2, and I like it a lot so far.. Downloading all your
other tracks as well, I'll give a more thorough review if I
have time tomorrow.

Sanguine: awsome dood. I really apreciate it a whole lot!
serioulsy I do. its good to hear some constructive things. I
was thinking the same things about both, but usually im just
kinda "stumped" ya know? but thanks a bundle, i never label
any of my songs "COMPLETE" for this reason.

Oh and BTW... I really dig this track of yours here, very
nice! I really like how the two high and low work
together.... form is wonderful.. just great

Totally with the stumped part... happens to me a lot.
Transitions and overall structure is really difficult...
been trying to get my mind in that direction, this piece is
sort of like that, I worked on the overall progression a lot
more.

Not too bad, but man takes so much time

A side note... my favorite part about this piece, and one of
the things I was really trying to make happen, was a very
subtle chord change. Three chord progressions but you might
not even notice the changing root, sort of a subtle jazz
line. Sort of like the person I was trying to capture when I
wrote it.

The mastering is new for me, I tried something different to
give it a new sound, would like to know what you guys think

The title MUST contain the word "caper".

I see William H. Macy drinking styrofoam coffee in a beat up
car on a stakeout trying to find out if his wife is cheating
on him. He gets bored and starts working on a puzzle toy,
gets obsessed, and when he looks up his wife's car is gone.
Lots of close ups of the puzzle and of his mouth grimacing.

Hehe... somebody should make a music video, maybe with
claymation or something... caper will definitly be a
consideration for the title, I like it.

Thanks for listening!

I replied elsewhere but I think it needs a bump here for
more people to listen and appreciate.

Actually an improved version will end up on the CD... I
found a bit of inspiration... still very interested for some
critique though

Welcome back from the B7!

another great track sanguine, don't you ever get bored of
making such good music? Kadath will always be my favourite
though, how come it is not on your site?

Sorry Sanguine, I forgot to come back and give you a better
review... I don't have time now (have to leave for class),
but I really like all of your stuff... keep up the good
work. :D

Kadath needs some serious remastering and touch ups... it's
on my list of things to do after I finish this EP, it will
not be forgotten... and it's up on Soulseek under my name
when I'm on there

Thanks for just saying you guys listened, like to know if
it's going over well!
