So the head of the US weapons inspection team quits, saying he doesnt think they have produced WMD since the first Gulf War... so what do they do, replace him and carry on searching. I wonder when they wil give up and admit there are no WMD?
Does anyone think after a while they will plant some evidence there themselves?
Tony Blair should resign, its obvious he took the country to war on the basis of false information. Its a shame really because apart from this Iraq business he's not a bad Prime Minister.

thats what i'm thinking, thats why they continue despite him saying there are no WMD, to give them time to do it. Then they'll say "look dudes, we found em! told ya we would!"

its interesting that this is hardly big news in the US (from looking on CNN and Fox News), yet it's BIG news here in the UK.

It is an American trait to be unable to apologise or admit mistake... in that Alpha male dominated country, that kind of honesty is seen as a weakness.

They went to war to secure America's future oil supply. If their cover story is breaking down now, I don't think they really give a shit. "Oh, no WMD, well they were thinking about WMD. Uh, so yeah." *shrug*
If John Kerry gets too popular, watch what happens - maybe there'll be some terrorists in Syria or Iran that need to be taken down. And you wouldn't change presidents in the middle of a war, now would you?

...and their history of litigation. Americans see admission of having done something wrong as giving someone the go ahead to try to sue them. They seem not to understand that in other cultures, a sincere apology can disuade the other party from such action.

when exactly is the US election? I'm sure the whole world will be watching and hoping Bush doesn't stop in power.

Very true, Ceri--The litigation culture is a key theme in the USA. It is so bad that I remember my wife's sister being sued by another sister for a car accident. It is also, like much of Western Society, open to corruption, for another of my wife's sister was involved in a very minor accident--basically a nudge--which she then claimed to caused her to suffer a bad neck injury, and so sued the other driver. That kind of downright deceit makes me sick.
