HELP! - fast music/computer problems?

a day or two ago i noticed that when playing music in
winamp, everything seemed to be playing a little bit faster
and more high-pitched. i'm pretty sure i'm not imagining
this because i played the songs in a regular cd playing and
i could definitely hear i difference, and my brother heard
it too. (he won't talk to me but i read it in his "blog")

i recently installed adobe premiere (cracked) and i know my
brother has installed a new version of bearshare and a new
version of aol instant messenger, but i think he has also
installed other things as well (he is an uncooperative jerk
when asked about what software he has installed recently,
but i believe he might know more than i do because he called
it a virus in his "blog," while i can see no reason to
assume this).

winamp lists the correct track lengths but plays them in a
faster time. i timed some songs and a 2:25 song was about
5-10 seconds shorter than it should have been, and a 0:32
song was about 2-4 seconds shorter than it should have been.
the problem seems to occur in both winamp and window media
player (i am still not 100% sure on this, but it definitely
happens in winamp).

does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? is it
a side-effect of a recently installed software, or a virus,
or what?????

help
