How much would a cheap setup be to play vinyl? I really only want it the vinyl only Snares and a few others. I already have an amp and nice speakers.

you can get those little portable turntables for around $200, they are pretty good, and you can take them to the record stores :p
but if your going to take up scratching/juggling/mixing whatever get a set of 1200s or even some vestax decks

well yeah, £1000+ is probably a bit excessive for someone who's completely new to decks and would probably only use them mainly for listening anyway i suppose.
