Tonight, I was listening to the conservative talk show "Matt Drudge", she was on.
And she said how the supreme court has 'declared us a gay nation',
and she challeneged someone to find in the constitution where it said sodomy was legal.

The constitution isn't there to say what is legal and what is not, its there to say which LAWS can be made, and which laws cannot be made. Fuck she is dumb.

So, you don't want one ofthese for your birthday?
I admire her, she's a very intelligent woman and speaks her mind.
As an aside, I find it amusing how whilst liberals will often champion those with more liberal views than themselves, conservatives are usually extremely quick to distance themselves from anyone even slightly more right wing than themselves.

I don't agree with everything she says, but I can see a great deal of sense in some of it. I agree that her mannerisms are annoying though, the way she treats other people in a debate as if they are morons if they have a different point of view to her (the expression of faux disbelief she adopts doesn't win her any friends).

In her defense, she often says things in a sarcastic or humorous tone, which when taken out of context sound a lot worse than they are (this doesn't apply to the thing mappatzee quoted- she was being serious about that). One point she makes repeatedly in her books is the left's inability (or at least pretending not) to "get" jokes. She does use humour and exaggeration to get her point across and it leaves her open for misinterpretation (be it intentional or otherwise).
Zeus, yes I've seen that picture before. She's pro- the right to bear arms. Like I said, I don't agree with all her views and this is one of them. It doesn't, however, mean I write off all her argumnents as those of a bible thumping gun nut :)

They thing about democrats and republicans is they each espouse that THEY are the true defenders of liberty, in their own way, but both of them are against it in different ways also.
Which is why I'm a libertarian.

I like her sense of humour and irony. Even the doll I posted a link to is actually a snub to her liberal detractors. She has recieved criticism in the past for being, and I quote, "so clever, pretty and white" (absurd really, that good looks and intelligence are something to be criticised for and I won't even go into the race issue...). Others have said that her doll like looks (and gender) are part of the reason for her success and even comparative tolerance of her more extreme views. Well, her agreeing to do this doll is a pretty humorous response to that...

ceri.. she is out of her fucking mind.. this is a woman who throws a dangerous word like "treason" at anyone who disagrees with her or anything that child in the white house does.... she is like a joke to most people in the US (even conservatives) who ..well.. "have an IQ higher than a toaster." she is definately not one to admire.. she's not one to even listen to/pay any mind because of how rediculous her arguments are.. like saying that bush got into yale based on merit or that he served in the air force (she actually cited that in battle situations, soldiers in fighter planes have higher bpms than infantry members)... she wants to kill and convert the entire muslim world.. which makes me want to firebomb her church and piss it out.... I have a hard time accepting anyone that goes for what bush is being told to do.. but to defend it to the degree that she does is just jawdropping... she's become a total charicature ..stop admiring her

I don't admire her for her loyalty to Bush or her view of Muslims. That doesn't mean I write off her politics as a whole. I like the fact that she doesn't pussy foot around and suggest or imply things... she states with absolute clarity what she believes. It's something people are not used to in their politicians or politicial commentators and something that I'm all for.

I've never heard of her until now, and now I'm fucking scared!
"Gore also complained that Bush has made the "rest of the world" angry at us. Boo hoo hoo. He said foreigners are not worried about "what the terrorist networks are going to do, but about what we're going to do." Good. They should be worried. They hate us? We hate them. Americans don't want to make Islamic fanatics love us. We want to make them die. There's nothing like horrendous physical pain to quell angry fanatics. So sorry they're angry - wait until they see American anger. Japanese kamikaze pilots hated us once too. A couple of well-aimed nuclear weapons, and now they are gentle little lambs. That got their attention."

I read an interview with her and she just comes out with stuff that is wildly inaccurate. When they brought her up on the facts she just dismissed them outright.
She's just a waste of space and can't be taken seriously. There are people on the right I'd disagree with but who will acknowledge facts. they just have a different interpretation of them. This woman lives in some fabrication of reality that is shaped by her own agenda.

Sadly yes... there are jokes about it all the time. It has also been suggested that the vast number of home improvement programs are a contributing factor to our ridiculous house prices. People expect more for their money and as a result sellers are having to do houses up before selling them (hence driving the cost up). Few people nowadays have the time/inclination for a "fixer upper" and look to buy houses that are already in reasonably good condition and decorated tastefully throughout.

Years... amusingly, (because of what Ann said in a bit of text that Theo partially quoted) since I was about 14. I'd already done paid work and made up my mind that I was prepared to work hard. I belive that in a country like ours nearly anyone who is intelligent enough and hard working enough can make something of themselves. I have a lot of friends in law and the forces and naturally that probably rubs off on me a bit. I suppose ultimately it comes down to my great belief in free will and that I don't buy into this weak, fatalistic idea that everyone's life is entirely ruled by their circumstances. My folks aren't conservative at all though... my parents are not fans of the government and my brother and his partner are a lot more left wing than me.
Please don't get me the wrong impression of me- people often think of conservatives as heartless, self serving, elitist dicks and I won't deny a lot of them are (I should know, I've met enough of them!). I'm not, I just like choosing ("having power over" would be a better description I suppose) who/what organisations I put my time or money into helping. I'm not a huge fan of democracy... you need only look at the charts/popular television to see that the majority of people are none too bright (which is reflected in our government). However, I still think it's probably the best form of government. I vote conservative for two reasons (although I generally think the Tories are a bit gash), first one is pretty juvenile, but I think it's important to have a sense of humour about these things: To offset the huge numbers of fools who no matter what a shambles they are, or how right wing they become, how dreadful their constituancy candiate is or what their policies are that year; persist on voting labour simply because "it's what workers should do". They vote Labour because their fathers voted labour and told them to... They vote Labour on principle and out of sheer bloody mindedness. To offset this I vote conservative no matter what (I hope if anything,
