I doubt that many of you ppl work out, let alone go to the
gym, let alone own a bowflex. However; They have one in my
dorms, and i've been using it for a little under a month
now; and find it a decent piece of machinery. I do need to
know how to work my abs, though. I can pretty much target
all the muscle groups i want on that machine; however, the
dorm manager has lost the instructions, and i can't find
shit on the net (just get rich quick schemes, and other
simular scams). So does anyone here know how to rig this so
i can ripp my abs?

thanks a million, guys!

i own one but no instructions here either.

i guess you could try kneeling with one end in front of your
knees and pushing down on the other end with your chest.

but other than that i think a bowflex is too long to do abs.

I always thought the way was, Laying on your back at an
incline (like your about to do your chest) but instead wrap
the handles around your chest and curl your torso and sit
up.

could be wrong

if you're that concerned about doing your abs, just lie on
the floor and do situps/crunches until it burns.

like one handle pinned under something and the other around
your chest and do sit ups.

fuck that would kill on your nips.

if you have bag hooks anywhere you could do crunches against
a wall but careful the thing dont come off and break your
back.

Men who go to the gym are poofs. Either that or they're
vain, narcisisstic meat-heads with a measurable low
self-esteem.

Don't flame me for that, it's a scientific fact.

maybe they just have goals. You know there are people out
there that prefer to do something with themselves rather
than sitting in front of a computer getting fat.

Yeah, particularly if you have the personality of a toilet
door-knob. Which is almost certainly true of 99% of gym
members.*

I haven't a fucking clue what a bowflex is. It sounds like a
digeridoo or something.

its like a big pole which you can squeeze by pushing the
ends inward or you can pull on the cables on the outside to
make the pole squeeze.

did you go to tyler durdens vocational school for dumbasses?
your little generalization is pretty inane, as though it
didn't occur to you that perhaps some people simply like to
live healthily and going to the gym is a part of that
lifestyle.

You're the dumbass for raising to the bait.

Who the fuck is Tyler Durden anyway?

Of course some people go to gym as part of a healthy
lifestyle. Namely middle-aged women who, having dropped
three demanding and ungrateful kids, has one last ditch
attempt to lose those flabby, cellulitic thighs. And
menopausal executives with their clogged arteries, high
blood pressure and anal fissures, who puff and sweat on the
treadmill wearing their headbands and fluorescent gortex
vests, battling vainly to stave off that inevitable
coronary.

to work your abs, lay down with your head towards the bow
part of the machine and do situps. since you can do situps
up with your hands behind your neck, you can grab the straps
and do this, but keep your hands at the shoulders instead of
the back of the neck. or you can grab the straps and extend
your arms until they're straight and do the situps while
keeping your arms extended and parallel to the ground. by
doing the latter, you'll also work some of the stabilizer
muscles in your arms.

bowflexes are pretty good machines because they work your
stabilizer muscles with free weight, rather than most weight
machines, which allow you to only move basically up, down,
left or right. but with free weights, the weight can move
anywhere, so you utilize more muscle when using them because
you have to stabilize and make sure the weight moves in the
direction you want.

no, but you can get the same damn workout with a normal
weight bench, how do I know? Ive been doing the same damn
thing, look up maybe on the net for a workout guide on how
to effectivly work out specific parts of your body with
certain weight lifting techniques, trust me, after 1 or 2
workouts with this sort of thing your whole body will be
sore, and the more and more you do it, the more woull notice
a difference in your body.
