manitoba - up in flames. i was also thinking some four tet or something; any suggestions?

i hate to say this, but i'd wager that no matter what you play she'll probably not like it... people make up their minds before they hear electronic music, all too often

I think you should just let her listen to country which has the potential to be (Johnny Cash) better than most IDM anyway.

yes, pretend to be open-minded about it, and then hammer her over the head with autechre and snares and if she doesn't like it point out how you listened to her shitty country (while secretly wearing headphones) and how awesome it is to be open minded

If it bothers you that much that she loves country music and thinks all electronic music is the same (it would bother the hell out of me), then just tell her she is inferior and that you want her to leave as fast as possible.

Like any music there's good country and bad. After having borrowed four country-tinged Gillian Welch albums off a friend I'm fair impressed, and I'm partial to the odd Handsome Family track now and again. Equally at home with 'em as with Autechre and yon Snares.
Instead of pretending to be open minded, actually be open minded.
