anyone listen to these guys? fucking crazy tight guitar
melodies ontop of spastic live drumming.

i think it's the treats.

listen to the track "republic of the rough"
or "biblical violence" or "better get a broom"

they remind me a lot of Helmet. no vocals though and not as
speed metal-ish. but more because they are so tight, like
jazz musicians, and their melodies, and drumming seem very
mathmatic

"biblical violence" is a wicked song...

they are predominantly on 5 Rue Christine (home to Deerhoof,
and Xiu Xiu)... their next album is set to be released on
the 20th of january called "the devil isn't red"...

the only issue i have with Hella is that because there is
only two of them, some of their songs seem really exciting
for the first minute, but then don't seem to go anywhere...
in some cases anyways... still very wicked stuff...

i think that they are hella recognizing the absurdity of the
word "hella" by naming themselves hella.

my friends and i say "hell of" when something stronger than
the abreviation "hella" is required to show the intensity of
the subject to which the adverb is being applied.

Hella is like an American version of Ruins without gibberish
vocals and with guitar instead of bass and with no slow
songs. They rule.
