I read an exlcusive interview to Chris Cunningham on an Italian Magazine called RUMORE (maybe someone remember it for a long article about Richard D. James in 2001, scanned by me for aphextwin.nu) Well Chris said that he just finished to make 2 long video for Aphex Twin and Squarepusher. Then now he said who he's working for a new warprecords dvd release. Anyway now it's official, we will have 2 new amazing videoclip soon. Probably the AFX video should be Rubber Johnny, i think. \/\/. |

oh it worked.... The interview is taken from DE:BUG (www.de-bug.de) Here are some of the Questions translated to you, I’ m going to translate them part per part ....it’s impossible to translate the hole: 1) Question DEBUG: Do you think in a theoretical level about the effects which you use ? There are many people which used the idea “Come to Daddy” is a clip concerning about clones. And also there are other clips using “clones” like: The two Björk roboters in “All is full of Love”, the digital copies of Madonna in “Frozen” or again thee freezing grinning Face from Richard D. James (Aphex Twin) as a Mask in “Windowlicker”. CHRIS: To be honestly true: The idea from clones has never interested me. I always used to figure out the visual idea out of the music . As I made “Come to Daddy” Richard has put his own voice over pitch effects to sound like children voices. He has made characters only thru his voice, and I wanted to get this visual, to make characters like him. I never thought about clones. I like it making clips for music like that, because its easy, you only have to put the musical ideas in visual ideas. If there are germans out there, wanne have the scanned page, let me know it .-) |
