I'm looking for a good reliable laptop for musical use -
production with FL Studio and Cubase, and maybe some live
stuff eventually.

My main concern is something with a dependable motherboard
that will allow me to use a USB ASIO audio interface with
low latency, glitch-free.

I am counting on your expertise, fellow exceltronickers.
DON'T DISAPPOINT ME.

Geez, I was kinda hoping someone would come along and say
"Ya know there's this little-known brand of laptop that is
efficient and perfect for music production and it only costs
thhhhFIVE dollars".

Not to mention, no FL Studio (which I did pay for oddly
enough, because it is killer software) on Mac. I'd die! I'd
just die!

I work in education, all the schools I deal with, we
recommend SONY VAIOs, we deal with other laptops from other
suppliers, but honestly, in terms of quality and robustness,
SONY are the best. Its a brand in laptops that we have
trusted for the last 4 years.

Be carefull with some of the other manufacturers out
there.....certain models like the Toshiba Satellites (not
sure of model) are absolute fucking shite!

Heh, and I figure if Sony is good enough for mister James...
time to do some shopping.

If you buy a Sony make sure you don't buy any of their
budget models, they fall apart really quickly...the more
expensive models are a lot better.
