House Music

Now I was never one to really enjoy House Music besides
some Acid and Leftfield/Underworld, but recently I've begun
to find that there is definitely some good music out there
that is very deserving even off the dance-floor.

Stuff like Kaito's album 'Special Life', Sasha's
'Airdrawndagger', and the song 'Star Guitar' by The Chemical
Brothers.

So if anyone is interested in seeing what I'm talking about
check out 'Intension' by Kaito, 'Golden Arm' by Sasha and
'Star Guitar' by The Chemical Brothers.

Again, I'm not much for dance floor filling music, but these
songs/albums work well both ways.

chemical brothers is tolerable, great at times. but i listen
to them more as big beat than house.

ya i thought chemical brothers was common techno so i told
somebody i liked techno and they gave me a DJ Irene cd and i
puked in their face. true story, except for the parts i made
up for embellishment purposes.

the made up part would be the part about the cd right?

Yes, the Chemical Brothers are definitely more 'big-beat'
oriented, but that paticular song is House.

DJ Irene is complete crap...the kind of stuff that makes me
dislike the dance floor filling House/Trance genre.

As for Deee-Lite, I never really heard much by them, but I
did enjoy some of Towa Tei's solo stuff.

Also just wanted to mention how well 'rktic rmx' by
BrothomStates and 'Booc' by Plaid fit well into what I
consider "good" House Music.

Yeah, I've heard House Music....though I'm pretty picky when
it comes to it. I use to see House and Trance being pretty
much interchangable between the two due to all those
'superstar' DJ's and how they try to hop onto different
genres, but now I can tell the difference.

If you like Tech-House I suggest you check out Kaito whom I
mentioned up above....you should like it.

i never understood the "superstar" DJs...some of them arent
especially good at mixing or are usually too fucked up to
care...it's those damn magazines that hype them...and
anyways...they all play pretty much the same generic
trance/progtrance/house kinda stuff...

now i cant even listen to some cheesy trance by Paul Van
Dyke or the likes without the fear of throwing up.

Good ol' honest house still goes..

Yeah, its a shape house music has been poisened by the whole
'superstar DJ' thing. It got caught up ina lot of bullshit.
But there is some great house music out there and some of
the minimal stuff like Theo Parrish, Moodyman etc is not a
millions miles away from electronica.
