Is this true? Old news?
I've never heard of any work by this Sammy company. If this is true, I am saddened.

Sammy sounds vaguely familar. i think they might be responsible for the Guilty Gear series.

As to why the 20-year veteran would choose to resign now, industry sources in Japan commented to GameSpot that certainly Nakagawa's departure could be linked to Sega's purchase by Sammy. If this is the case, sources said, Nakagawa might be the first in a series of defections by senior Sega employees. Top staff are both the most used to the status quo and most likely to resent change, as well as being in the best position to find new employers, start their own firms, or simply retire.
here
the above bolded words are what lead me to believe this. i hadn't heard anything about this before except of a possible merger between the two companies.

Sammy made big meaty fancy pinball machines.
Recently Sega have attempted to merger with Sammy and it all fell through, then they tried to merger with Namco and the same thing happened. It might be on the cards again that they might merge with Sammy...I haven't heard anything recently though, but I do know they are looking for a large scale alliance.

btw Sammy own 22% of Sega which they bought earlier this month (I think they are the largest shareholder now), but as far as I know they still don't wholly own the company.
Sammy are a big company though.

Yeah, Sammy is the largest shareholder of Sega. This deal has been in the works for a long time, but kept getting dropped.
Sammy just recently opened up a U.S. office somewhere in California for game devlopment, I'm very curious to see what else will come from them, because the Guilty Gear series is a quality 2D fighter.
