Arovane is just okay in my books. His music is pretty but not very original. I group him into a long list of Autechre followers that include: Phonem, Isan, Arovane, Fizzarum, Michell Akiyama and countless others. |

arovane is just blah to me. i like one song by him: deauville, off of tides. thats it. the rest of his (or is it more than one person?) stuff is just boring. |

i don't think that Arovane is an ae rip-off... not even this album, which is off-cited as such... arovane's sounds is his own, and it is a gorgeous one... he has earned the relatively large fanbase he has now... this album reveals surprising subtleties the more you listen to it, and ultimately, i think it is as valuable as Tides in his discography... beautiful bearly palpable baselines, baroque percussion, and gorgeous airy ambiance make this an album that i will return to again and again... from an ambient perspective: easily one of the finest that the IDM oeuvre has offered, from easily one of it's finest artists... to me Arovane, more than a lot of artists, proves that a track doesn't have to be incredibly busy to be incredibly interesting... |

i think people label arovane as an autechre rip off because 1. arovane uses beats 2. arovane uses melodies and 1. autechre uses beats 2. autechre uses melody so hopefully you can see where the connection lies. man, all these other groups rip off autechre so much too! man theres no original music around anymore! warp forever! argh! ra etc. |

Arovane is great...even though i think Tides is his best, Atol Scrap is very very good. Icol Diston is nice too. i think its very pleasant for its melodies and wet sounds and completely different than AE, nowhere near as abrasive and much more melodic. |

never understood the comparsion to autechre. arovane is not groundbreaking music, but is damn nice. tides is my favourite. and im trying to find the other albums on cd somewhere. |

I dig all of Arovane's stuff, even the by-the-numbers older stuff because it's so damn catchy. It just moves my mind elsewhere when I listen to it. Anybody comparing him to Autechre hasn't listened to either artist and are fronting something weak and wimpy. So :P to them. |

i don't like this release much. Much worse than Tides or Cycliph EP, as for me. Yeah, comparing Arovane to Autechre is not right. |

People who can't see a similarity between arovane and ae in mood are stupid. I love ae and really like arovane. The release is pretty nice. People are stupid. |

hm, i was talking about Icol Diston, actually. Icol Diston, Atol Scrap... easy to confuse. I didn't have Atol Scrap since today. Now I have it, 4/5. Better than Icol Diston :) I liked the last track Atol Scrap very much. |

arovane is great...look to his label ties and the hardwax crew...he obviously has a musical place nearer to monolake and pole and basic channel more than autechre. |
