Favourite Dreamcast Games!!!

I know that the Dreamcast wasn't all that popular but it
has to be my most favourite console. Also after seeing all
these favourite game threads I thought that the Dreamcast
deserved a place. My personal favourites are -

Crazy Taxi
Crazy Taxi 2
Shenmue
Soul Calibur
Unreal Tournament
Soldier of Fortune
Metropolis Street Racer.

They are all awsome games and played beautifully on the
Dreamcast...

I don't think the Dreamcast was a very popular console, was
it..? To me there weren't much interesting games for it. the
most I love Shenmue, but again, I guess i only know a few...

It still beats the shit out of the others that were around
at the time. It's like having an arcade machie at home, but
I suppose that's why it never took off. It was just too
difficult to make games for it.

I'd say Soul Calibur was pretty ace. I didn't have a
Dreamcast by a know a number of people who did and I use to
play shit on there's too.

My vote goes something like this:
1. Tony Hawks 2
2. Soul Calibur
3. Evil Dead: Hail to the King

Virtua Tennis was cool. I was addicted to trying to get full
points on the bowling pins thing. Never did though. Sega
Rally was cool also.

Marvel Vs Capcom 1 and 2 (2 was better), Jet Grind Radio,
Sonic Adventure 1 and 2, Crazy Taxi, Tokyo Xtreme Racer 1
and 2, And I'm sure Shenmue was great but I never got to
play it! I should try to get it preowned but I just dont
have time to start another epic game.

Soul calibur one seems a bit sluggish now that SC2 is out...
I prefer the single player mode in SC1 though- a lot more
challenging.

Other good games:
THPS 2 (THPS is only on the PSone, PC and DC- DC version had
the best graphics by far and the gameplay was just as good)
Ikaruga (Better music than the GC version :P)
Crazy Taxi 2 (One isn't as good IMO)
Metropilis Street Racer (one of the few racers aside from
its sequels- the project gotham games- that actually makes
me want to play the single player mode)
Bangai-O (Fantastic, comparatively unknown game from
treasure- the people behind ikaruga & gunstar heroes,
excellent character based shooter- a sort of side on view
robotron).

Paco: I think the reason for it's demise was sega's past
mess ups (mega CD, 32X)... the buying public were unlikely
to forgive and the 3rd party developers knew this and were
quite cautious. Only Capcom seemed to really have
(misplaced) faith in the system.

And let's not forget saturn... That system really did suck
dick. (Shining Force 3 aside, I have to give Sega props just
for coming out with this game on that system).

He he, yes one of my mates is a saturn fiend... aside from
NiGHTS, I can't think of anything I liked on it.

The only time I saw one was in an electronics shop. It was
playing some Sonic 3D game and to be quite honest, it looked
shit, even for it's time.

I hardly played any Dreamcast games while it was alive...
just the standards. Sonic Adventure and Resident Evil: Code
Veronica, which are both great and pretty much the only
Dreamcast games I own. I rented a lot, none of which were
very good. I remember Blue Stinger having potential, but it
didn't deliver at all.

I can count all the Saturn games I played on one hand...
Panzer Dragoon Zwei, Nights, NHL '97, Jurassic Park... a
couple others.

Woah... that was a major nostalgia trip thinking about
Nights.. I never played it but i remember reading about it
and seeing screenshots and the like.. Man that was a long
time ago.

either originally made for the pc or coin-ops.

i hope that wasn't a jab at arcade games. sega and namco are
both largely arcade based.

I'd have to say the shenmue series and the virtua tennis
series. Whatever shenmue comes out for, i'm buying the
system. I don't think the series is mind blowing but good,
and I'd really like to play the end.

That's because the DC is architecturally very
similair to Sega's arcade board of that time, "NAOMI".

soul calibur 2 is identical to soul calibur 1 except for a
few modes (what a worthless game in my mind, they took like
4 years to make it and did nothing with it)

Personally, I like SoCal1 more than 2. I just enjoy it
more. Granted, I've played MUCH more of 1 than 2, but
still.
