Some Drum & Bass MC's are good at a club, like GQ etc. But I can't figure out why they bother trying to get themselves on CD's, their rhymes are weak and normally they just shout the same thing over and over.

Well I'm listening to a lot of hardcore techno stuff lately and yes sometime the mcs piss you off.But if its live at a club, its exellent.

If they're good, they can really add something to live sets... whipping the crowd into a frenzy. I agree with ecnadniarb that they cna get a bit tiring on an album... they don't seem to know when to shut up. I don't mind a few snatches of vocals used in a track, but I don't like an album to be "covered" by them.

on the 2 times that i was fortunate enough to witness dj sets of ed rush&optical, mc rhymetime was present and he definitely added some good extra flavour. a local MC which i really like as well is MC Proskript.
as for tracks instead of dj sets, i mostly prefer instrumental d&b.
now goin to check out monoid's top 5.
my current is:
optical - the shining (ed rush&optical rmx)
ed rush & optical - shrinkwrap
ed rush - westway
dillinja - acid track
5th: possibly something by bad company.i dont know. i guess i have a top 4.

As long as they don't try and 'out-do' the music I'm not really too bothered.

Heard a track with MC Tali on on the radio last night... pretty good female MC, nice to hear on that actually mcs rather than just sings. It was heavily fxed/sequenced so I'm not sure what she's like live, but it was good on a studio track.

I think sometimes they ruin a track. I prefer not to hear them but they've become trendy so its hard to say.

all the dnb mc's i've seen have a tendency to over stay their welcome.
i'd like to hear 'em on 1 or two songs at a show but not the entire fucking set.
shouting the same stale rhetoric in the same obnoxious monotone for an entire show.
