Fastest car in the world?

What is it?

Apparently it is the Corvette Sledgehammer, which does
255mph and came out in 1988. Is that true? I always thought
it was the F40.

Anyways I don't even drive and have never been interested.
So put that in your pipe and smoke it.

woo woo, i'm a total car guy.

depends what you mean by fastest car though. the
sledgehammer was the fastest for that time. the koenigsegg i
believe is now the fastest, on the 0-100-0 MPH stand point.
at least that's what they're saying, if not, then the
Mclaren is still the fastest. fastest stock production car
for quartermile may be one of those two or the ferrari enzo
or perhaps the lambourghini murcielago (low 11 second
quarter miles). top speed wise, i think the veyron takes it.
it's somewhere around 250 MPH (maybe even more).

as hevquip said, it really depends on what you mean.

Production car? Tuner car? One off? Concept?

I would love to use the 0-100-0 as the benchmark, just
because that is OVERALL ass kicking, however, there are
several cars now, as weatheredstoner mentioned the Bugatti
Veyron comes to mind, that are doing 0-60 (typical US
benchmark, basically 0-100kmh) in the low 3s.

So, different strokes, the Enzo is so hot, and blah blah
blah. Cars man, fucking steel and cars.

Mmm that sure has a smooth body. A car can be shit but if it
doesn't look good whats the point? So many new car look like
shit these days.

What about the McLaren F1 with the bmw v-12m engine? oh
yeah, now it's a mercedes engine right?

does the F1 even stand up these days?

the 911 turbo still has the fastest 0-60 at like 4 seconds
for a street-legal car.

lots of cars have below 4 sec 0-60 and are street legal.

*that's a ridiculous statment, but true*
