Helping a kid with learning difficulties learn to read. He
was barely literate when I started teaching him and he was
able to read an abridged version of Frankenstein at the end.

i don't want to sound like a prick but how is having a baby
an achievement (expecially if you are the male)?

offline tibbar from harrisburg, pa (United States) on 2003-11-22 23:49 [#00961768]

i think of acheivement as a process really... anythign you
do, you dont do alone. for example... having a track
released in japan... that isnt all you, people have to make
decisions on things and rely on others to get things like
that done. so any acheivement really is not just you. this i
think makes acheivements more special, because you have
others who support and help you along the way. so i dont
look at anything ive done as being solely my own doing.

that said, if i didnt have to pick something ive
participated int hat i find to have the greatest
significance or satisfaction in my mind, i guess it would be
just making music i think is special and beautiful and has a
future for/with friends i am lucky to have.

i lost over 60 lbs when i was a high school freshman, and
i've managed to keep most of it off since. that pretty much
changed my life.

too bad teh Jared Fogle dont know, but iss all good yo.

offline tibbar from harrisburg, pa (United States) on 2003-11-23 00:28 [#00961778]

wow... thats awesome. you know i heard some thing saying
that if most people lost 20 lbs, that self-confidence and
thigns ould skyrocket, which would in turn go up and up the
ladder, even effecting things like the economy.

its weird to think about.

it makes sense tho.

in the economy, human producers = labor. if labor has more
confidence, labor is more motivated to produce. as
production is increased, economic growth is boosted.

anyway, i know this sounds like a commercial or magazine or
such, but exercise and weight-loss makes the mind healthier
too, not just the body.

Finding that picture of the kid with the two girls on
accident right after I looked at this thread, then deciding
it would be fun to post it here. Greatest achievement ever.
