Just got 'Happy songs for happy people'. I have to say I'm
liking it a lot, which is a pleasant surprise as most of the
stuff they've put out after Young Team has struck me as just
plain boring.

But this is very, very good!

Yeah, it's pretty good... probably second to Young Team for
me, nice surprising return to form.

some of the best minimalist melodies around.

proof that music can only just get better.

I'm thinking it might be my favorite album of the year.
Nothing else has quite rocked me as hard as this one.

It has this thing that I think is pretty typical of Mogwai:
The song has a beautiful, beautiful little melody and then
suddenly it disappears somewhere and is never heard again.
It's pretty damn annoying, but at the same time great as it
makes me listen to the song over an over again to the point
where that 'little melody' isn't the point of the song
anymore for me, but the whole structure of it, erm,

am I making any sense?

return to form? they do the same thing every album(not meant
in a bad way). for me mogwai is terribly hit or miss and
mostly uninteresting. my father my king is the only
interesting thing theyve done that ive heard.
