i'm sure the melody for her new track is an Aphex twin copy
or other, i've got the original that i'm thinking of stuck
in my head, but as usual in these situations can't remember
who it's by... Anyone?

wtf...i downloaded at least 5 different mp3's and they all
end like after 10 seconds - tho it seems like an full mp3

anyway, from what i've heard i dont think its got anything
to do with aphex...tho it does sound pretty good :)

i know it's NOT aphex but the ripply keyboard effect
defenitely has a warpish resemblance, i'll find it sure
enough, just dont know when, gggrrrrrrr

Yep, it certainly has IDM stylings, I can't think of a
specific track it copies though. Another person DLed it off
me on Soulseek last night. That's about 7 in total...

It's called electroclash, innit? I think 'slow' is a neat
enough track and I've been wondering if some interesting
people have remixed it...

'Kylie's Slow reminds me of IDM'

Oh thats just bananas, slow is nothing like idm, your seeing
idm where there isnt any, mabey because you are trying to
make yourself like the song to justify watching the video

ok bob maybe not IDM but there's a track out there on some
warp IDM that is at least partly similar.

I think the video's wank for wankin, and the song sucks.

i just made this comparison cos i noticed it

Sweet Exorcist - 'clonk's coming' ..or 'test four'?!?

...or maybe 'Voodoo Ray' by A Guy Called Gerald?

Those files you download that stop after a while, though
they seem to be full length, are put there by some guys
hired by Kylies record company, who flood the net with fake
files, and hope you get so frustrated you'll just buy the
CD.

WHY IS EVERYONE OUT TO GET ME?

...

What are YOU looking at?

fuck off, "slow" DOES have an id feel to it, why? because it
doesnt sound like any other pop music....same what madonna
is trying now with her new album, trina go more idm.....to
keep the reinvention thing happening, and let's face it, idm
is the coolest thing around these days, just a matter of
time before the record companies fuck it up and make it just
another cliche.....

offline Drunken Mastah from OPPERKLASSESVIN!!! (Norway) on 2003-11-18 05:16 [#00955035]

You can't make inventiveness a cliché. Even though Hip-Hop
has become more mainstream, and popstars all over the world
uses it to up their record-sales, it hasn't become
corrupted. You can still find new artists who make inventive
music, and the classics will forever live on.

IDM will be the same. Kylie and Madonna and Britney (i think
she's made some Basement Jaxx-ish shit now(i know Jaxx isn't
IDM, but that's beside the point)) may make all the IDM or
Hip-Hop influenced music they feel like, but the true
artists will always be there, running shit.

And by the way: Wouldn't it be an improvement of pop if
Aphex or Autechre made the music for Christina Aguileras new
single? They'd probably fuck her up (i'd like to fuck her,
but not up...).

still, it was the same with korn a few years back....noone
knew em, i was a big fan....and the suddenly everyone was
listening to them, and emulating them...and it just fucks it
up in a way, with every great artist you have an army of
cockheads emulating their shit making a quick buck, pisses
me off...and its their shit i gotta see on mtv or viva (here
in europe)

Ignore the bad. Korn didn't get any worse than they would be
if they had kept going.. no-one seems to like the latter
albums from an artist, as opposed to the first.. even though
they may even actually be better.

limp bizkit would have written history if they stuck to
their originality in their first album, album no. 2 already
showed signs of "i like this money...i want more" now
they're lost

Seems like a general perception. Don't know why, though. I
don't think I would have become corrupted by the money if my
music was published(is that the word?). The only thing that
would've been different, is i would be buying lots of
equipment for making music, and I wouldn't hang out on this
board, talking to you suckers!

yeah yeah and yadee yaddah, but can someone make some astute
comparisons, i'm thinking either Aphex, Plaid or Sq.pshr,
this is tearing me apart in my head, i've got a bit of Kylie
and a bit of the track that it sounds like spinning around
and around in my head. I just need a name and i'll leave
off, ok.

schmmoch, be nice...

Probably something like aphex: mr. Frosty or something like
that. Maybe the song by squarepusher I have on my computer
but don't remember the name of, and sounds very much like
Slow by Kylie Minogue.

YES, just listened to the sample on the album's page and
that's got to be the one that I had in my head, this has
been plaguing me all weekend and now I find that i've
compared Autechre to Kylie Minou, I is a wee bit
embarassed.

Please, Moderator ''Bob'' for shame's sake delete this
thread, I plead!!!!

Have to admit that there is definitely a hook in there that
resembles that track.

Wonder what the producers Emiliana Torrini and Mr Dan
would think of my comments? Are they Warpish in style?

Thanks Co-existence, you saved me a late night trawling my
collection!

It reminds me of Fischerspooner, which is rather logical.
Check out the Fischerspooner remix of "Come into My World"
for instance.
