lot's of it is based on the Russian language actually.
ptitsa = bird in russian

"filthy old sumka!" sumka = bag in russian

"curse bog in his heaven" Bog = God in Russian

and so on

malchik = boy in Russian.

luckily, i had taken russian as my language choice in
highschool. Coincidentally, almost all of the CWO slang was
covered in that class.

yes it's a great film, heavily indebted to THE GOLDEN GIRLS
though, Droogs are like the younger, penile implanted Golden
Girls having sex with people half their age...

I fell into a deep depression after watching this movie
years ago, so I've never dared to watch it again... It
scares the shit out of me!!!

It's a wicked film. Voilent but not as bad as I was made to
believe. The film is better than the book I think.

Kubrick's a genius.

Great film. I loved it, and come to think of it, I loved the
fact that by the end I was still left with no conclusion
whatsoever.

wasn't the original film banned in england and then finally
shown in theatres in 2000? or am i misinformed...

yes but not due to its content. I was an argument between
Kubrick and the distributors if I remember rightly

great film, with a great soundtrack, and i think it's one
of, if not THE, best work by Kubrick.

I've heard that the man who made the soundtrack for
Clockwork Orange, Walter Carlos, had a sex change in the
70's.

Are the girls supposed to be 10-12? Damn.. seems like
Stanley had some darker sides.. His first film was "Lolita,"
about a man who falls in love with a 12yr old. It was based
on a polish or russian book, or something.

they were pre-pubescent virgins in the book, not the movie

something?

Brilliant film nevertheless. It's a shame Kubrick had to
take an unbelievable amount of shit, death threats and such
for it in Britain at the time.

I saw it when it was on TV but I want to get it on DVD, buts
its damn expensive everywhere with no extra features. Its a
shame it doesnt have a documentary or something with it
considering its notoriety and interesting history.
