heh I just made a track...after I finished it I thought it
all sounded very familiar...then I realised that I have just
created a slow breakbeat version of netlon sentinal...I
dunno how or why...it just happened. I haven't even
listened to Netlon Sentinal recently and I didn't realise
what I had done until I finished it...

Anyone else ever done anything like this?

it's 50/50 for me when stoned.... sometimes i'll create
something that sounds awesome at the time, then later i
realize it sucks, or i'll make something that i think sounds
decent at the time, then listen to it later, and be like
"man, this fucking rules!"

no, but in terms of guitar I suck when stoned.. I can still
tear up the keyboard though, I don't know why. I think the
keyboard is just more intuitive for me.. it just works.

i remember an old interview with tricky (maxinquaye era --
back when he DIDN'T suck) and they asked, how do you think
marijuana affects yr songwriting? and he sd, i dunno, i
never tried writing a song sober. -- massive attack too is
ALWAYS high when recording.

Yep I've done that loads...but to recreate a version of one
of your favourite tracks without realising.

I don't really have a problem with making music while
stoned, but this was just damn strange.

i write all my music stoned. i think that's why some songs
end up being 12 minutes.

you're lucky. =P When I'm stoned, guitar is just too much to
coordinate for some reason, even though I've been playing
for 5 years. I probably just start enjoying it too much and
then forget that I have to switch chords and then end up
fucking up =D

the concentration issue is a deffinate problem. but my
jamming and improv ability is much more fluid.

I love creating individual sounds when I"m stoned, but when
it comes to production and sequencing, its better if i'm
sober.

yes yes concentrating is hard stoned

i find i concentrate tooo much on stupid little things, and
somehow spend 3 hours making one little loop that eventually
i realize is shit.

I hear that - creation and inspiration are easy while
stoned, but production and concentration are a totally
different story.

I never make tracks off my head.

I use the family computer to make tracks, and whenever I'm
stoned I'm out somewhere. When I come home stoned, I just go
to my room, coz the computer has been turned off and I don't
wanna wake up my folks. And I'm usually real tired.

I've made a track when I was really really drunk I could
barely see. It's shit. But pretty impressive considering how
fucked up I was.
