I just wonder how much of it is actually her own words and how much is PR spin balloning out of control, trying to salvage that big blooper show of a Internationally Televised Rescue mission...complete with night vision goggles...

Yeah, this TV movie shit that is coming out makes me sick. There are troops and Iraqi's STILL DYING and fighting, and they have to sell this so-called "heroic" movie to the public just to make some cash. Its fucking sickening.

This stuff has been going on for ages. Remember the soldier that had a hit song during WW2? Or that other soldier that stared in his own movie about himself during WW2? I guess you wouldn't, but it's true.

Yeah, your right bogala, but I think the difference in this case is that the "war" with Iraq is a fucking mess and its just getting worse, and during WWII there was nationalistic feelings and confidence in the military and goverment. People wanted to hear the songs and see the movies about the war, but in this case more than half of the world, including Americans, want to end this stupid bullshit and not see some lame TV movie about a greatly overexaggerated event that is just a pathetic scheme at making money.

Think of the hungry mouths you could feed with the budget from this pointless movie! It's times like these that make me proud to be Canadian.

it is pretty disgusting and weak. someone was telling me that the networks had that show competing with the elizabeth samrt story. i can't tell which is worse.
i do agree with bogola, though. people have been juicing up war stories since pre-spoken language. this one was pretty lifeless, though.
i guess conflict is so passe now that it's only tollerable as abstracted scenes in an independent film or as some nostolgic remnant from a dostoyevsky novel. the networks trying to make war pallatable just doesn't fly like the spoken word.
turn off your television. amen.

"during WWII there was nationalistic feelings and confidence in the military and goverment."
That's because back then there was 3 media outlets and they weren't into partisan politcs. Things have changed. Not that it's a bad thing. I am sick of the tic for tac bullshit, though
