i love Ovuca so much - i don't think he gets much respect
though. The reason i enjoy this album so much is that it has
plenty of variety and no two tracks are really alike in
style or form - and there's over 70 of them, and i found
that this album has not succeeded in boring me yet.

My favourite has to be Industro Contrast.

It's a decent album, Mr. Charisma. The thing I like about
that album and Lactavent is the helter-skelter-ness of it
all.

yeah i know - it's that variety. Ovuca never does the same
thing twice on this rekkid.....

Ovuca is always an uplifting experience. Almost every song
on here sounds like you've got this kid that just got his
first keyboard and didn't care about rules or what people
say. It's not until the Astrobotnia (and Wasted Sunday to
some extent) releases that he started sounding really pro.

Looking at old Astrobotnia topics here is funny. As soon as
it becomes apparent that AB is this d00d from Finland and
not Richard, interest seems to die out.

I've only got the first 33 songs...is that the better half
or what? Industro Contrast, Golden Pagoda, Northern Comfort
and Treehugging are all good.

I only have Wasted Sundays (which I find amazing). I like
the way he plays around with sounds he may have made with
his mouth but then adds a melodic side to it. Is Onclements
same style? Am seeing Astrobotnia live tonight. Hope he's
good on stage!!

i only listened to the first cd so far and its really nice -
his pre-astrobotnia music is quite fantastic
why the hell did he record that astrobotnia series , he
would be much more appreciated with out that imo

I havent hear this one. but i have lactavent album and i
hated it. i loved king stacey cause it was wicked ass
rephlex styled drill, and wasted sunday was one of my
favorite releases that year.

I've got lactavent, king stacey and wasted sunday too.
Wasted sunday is very good and king stacey also but i don't
like lactavent that much. Guess it's ok though.

Yeah, I don't see the logic in making three fantastic albums
under a completely different name... they would add to a
sparkling Ovuca legacy and make for one of the better
catalogues in IDM. I guess he doesn't care about personal
accolades. Dumbass.

yeah it's good - lots of variety - to anyone whose been
turned away by lactavent, please check out Onclements. you
won't regret it.

funny story about Ovuca....

the way Rephlex discovered him is that they were watching a
Finnish porn flick and liked the music in the background,
read the credits, and it turned out the guy who had made
it(Ovuca) had been sending them demos for many years now.

So they ask him to send more - he sends them three demos
credited to someone named Rachel Thompson - one was ground
hum, the other record hiss, and the last was tape crackle.

Grant thinks, "anyone who sends something like this as a
demo has GOT to be worth calling." So they call him up -
he's in the ARCTIC CIRCLE, looking at the northern lights,
piss drunk, naked, with AB3 blasting in the background.

When they asked him where he was at, he answers - "I'm in
Lapland right now."
And they think - "yeah, he's the man."

I really should put that article up sometime....

i'm considering picking up all of the ovuca releases because
they are currently available in warpmart. i really liked the
astrobotnia series for the most part. would i like any of
the ovuca releases?

its quite different. all 3 ovuca albums are different to

and i love it to pieces.

i love lactavent album and onclements.
i like wasted sunday a little less, and i don't care for
astrobotnia much anymore.

especially "onclements" are the reason i'll be always
interested in his new releases
