Spokes - good and bad

Although its more good than bad, I cant stand the clipping
in the first track. TOO MUCH REVERB. Its so loud and
annoying, you'd think someone would have noticed it before
putting the final cd together.

my fav tracks are: zeal, cedar city, + marry.

I was stupid enough to put it on my list of things i want
for my birthday... noooo!

So i can't buy it yet, because someone might have
already bought it for me. I just wasn't thinking ahead :-s
I want that album so badly.

Track 3 is definetly the ruling song with track 10 and 4....
But, it wasn't their best release in my taste... I just
ordered meself the new Quinoline yellow and Bola:Soup... Im
looking forward to that

Actually I agree with you a lot...the volume level is far
too high on the CD and it does lead to some noticable
effects...to tell you the truth the DialP CD has spent a lot
more time in my CD player than the Spokes disk...it's not
bad...it's just annoying in a can't put my finger on it sort
of way.

Hahaha. You're too right about the clipping.

tracks 1,2,3 don't really cut it for me. the intro to even
spring is the best bit of those three songs imo...

the goodness starts at track 4, which is my fave so far, i
guess. b born droid, marry, buns and quick emix are really
good, too

nothing special though, but intense melodies is good enough
for me. the packaging is awesome as well, the best i've seen
in a long while.

I rate this Album

4.5 out of 10

It's a pleasant enough album, but the melodies just aren't
sticking with me after the fact like a lot of Plaid's work
tends to do.

I agree, the album stumbles out of the gates. Problem is, it
never REALLY picks up at all. Not bad, just adequate.

Crap. Pretty forgetable. I've listened to it countless times
to try and get into it. Its just forgetable.

Totally agree Ophecks just doesn't pick up. A very mediocre
Warp release bordering on the shite. I've heard better demo
material than the recent Plaid release.

i find it's excellent background music to rayman 2
(bargained the other day). the mix cd as well. the music
does have that cartoonish feel to it :)

I think its a really good release, if only they cut out
those shitty Hitch-hikers Guide to the Galaxy 1970s cheesy
BBC computer effect interlude tracks. the tracks with
substance sutch as 2 and Upona and Marry are dynamite
though. But as a whole, the album does not demand repeated
listenings. Double Figure is far superiois and mutch more
varied.

Congratulations, that must be one of the worst plays on
words I've ever seen.

And that's a good thing, by the way, because only bad plays
on words are funny.

Am i the only who actually loves this album?

The clipping dosen't bother me i think that's being picky,
they must have wanted it to sound like that.

Fav tracks: Even spring, Cedar city, Marry and Crumax rins.

i only liked plaid post Double Figure... i thought
everything before that was a bit crap...
Spokes is really cool... i love the intro to even spring,
although it gets ruined when the same old kicks in... from
then on in its fantastic... although i dont like b born
droid...

my standouts would be Marry, Buns & Quick Emix.

Everyday I run to the postman in hope of at last recieving
your drawing, but alas, he has nothing for me, so I go in my

favorite track.
