wouldn't aphex be the most like lee perry, considering lee
was making music far earlier?

btw would you agree that aphex's type of music (call it idm,
electronica, etc.) has as much to do with '80s detroit
techno and kraftwerk as the electronic dub music people like
lee perry were making in jamaica as early as '68, '69?

oh sorry i was out..

i didn't say that lee perry is similar to the detroit techno
scene. i was just saying both detroit techno and '70s
jamaican artists had a big influence on people like aphex
twin and other '90s techno artists.

i do think lee perry and aphex were both musical geniuses of
their eras! probably the best of each style of music.

yeah, derrick may definitely has a large influence, and i'm
actually pretty sure that richard namedropped lee perry in
an interview at one point or another. either way, hes been
influenced heavily by both.
