elliott smith killed himself... stupid bastard. i guess we
should've seen it coming given his music and lyrics. what a
shame though, he had such talent. i love a lot of his songs.
i'll play one on my show tomorrow in honor of him.

if you don't know him from his albums or live shows you
might've heard his songs in good will hunting and american
beauty.

the only news story i could find right now

No, I like Smith. I'm going to go download some of his music
now. Yeah, people probably know 'Son of Sam' most.

My heart is saddened any time a fellow human being feels the
need to end his life. God should decide, not man. I'm sad to
say this, but hell awaits man who takes his own life.

lol religion is just false hope so that people wont kill
themselves. I cant stand it when people say committing
suicide is a sin, and they are gonna go to hell. Can you
imagine how shitty their life was to make them commit
suicide, then to top it off you send them to hell, yeah
great fucking religion.

click for an article that doesn't suck.

i'm shocked by this news, even if i shouldn't be.
interesting note: one of his songs was used for the suicide
attempt scene in royal tennenbaums.

sad news: thousands die every day, many many from suicide.

but only the famous touch so many lives, which is why we
post topics about them. which is why we take the time to
care about them, even if we never knew them personally. we
don't take the time to mourn the loss of everyone that
passes every day, but we do for the unique, to help balance
things out however selfishly, so that we can appreciate more
those still living.

speak for yourself. i never forget that people die everyday.
infact i ritualistically burn a daily stick of "origin"
style zen inscence for those who've commited suicide.

there are many people like me.

all my friends are coming out of the woodwork and mentioning
this guy's death. I've never hear of him or heard his
music.

I definately don't mean to sound insensitive though, when
anyone takes their own life it's an awful thing
