when i finally get around to it, i will have one big shelf for all my favourite cds, and then on the side, another one for the less listened to ones. all in alphabetical order, becuase it is easiest to get used to , and easiest to sort too.
atm, they are unorganised on the shelf and floor -_-

that's definitely right, i spose what i meant by my favourite cd's (i admittedly have a small range in tastes, outside of idm) was that i would have all my electronic/idm cds on the big shelf, and my older non-electronic stuff on the side shelf.

I have my favorite artists on the horizontal racks (like at the store), the better ones at the front (Beatles), the back ones, elite but not quite elite enough to. It's sort of chronological.
Shit I don't listen to much is on my three big vertical racks, because they're annoying to go through. Not alphabetical or anything, but chronological in an artist's ''section''.
That all probably sounded like gibberish.

Organization is for nerds.. I just have my cd's in a big cd booklet and can usually remember where most of them are... I always put them in the same spot i took them from, thats all the organization I need.

genre's works i guess i have metal industrial dance idm and in the second row besides that alternative soundtracks and classical
but it's only 60 cd's or so, most of em i've just put away, because it's crap or (in the back of my closet) or i will only want to listen to it once a year or less (in the front of it)

i think you can tell a lot about a person if they keep their cds/vinyl in a rack. Especially if its in alphabetical order. part of the fun of putting a particular cd on is being able to find it first.

if you buy a slotted cd case thingy like the ones I use, tou will usually find that you can fit more cd's in by placing them in the opposite direction to the grooves that they are meant to go in

eventually i will organize my records by label i think....cds are something i can never ever keep organized, it just wont happen, i dont care for them enough, but wax on the other hand is easier to have a bit of respect for...i just burn copies of my records and throw them around all over the place.
