feeling already old at 17...

feeling that i've passed from 'still too young' directly to
'already too old', without passing by what's in-between...

feeling that i've missed an opportunity to get something by
being too shy... yet i'm not sure what opportunity this
was...

feeling that any parties or most relationships or anything
erotic is just so vain...

feeling that the best part of my life may very well be
behind me...

feeling jaded, whatever will happen i don't care that
much...

...and i don't really care. i can be happy this way.

does youth exist anyways?
and if yes, is it this good? it seems so vain...

does adventure really exist in life?
people say so... but i believe people think and
dream it, never really live it. or maybe 0.1% of the
population lives it. and even though, it must not be that
fantastic. every life has its boredom.

i think you got used to boredom though, it's not that bad...
there is much worse than boredom (some consider boredom to
be a pain, i don't agree).

(PS: would you rather be ignored, or be badmouthed?)

I just turned 20 on Oct 5th

I am still in the same mindset I have been in since I was
about 15.

I'm not childish, but I certainly wouldn't class myself as
overly mature.

I'm happy with the way I think, and the way I act, I am me.

My philosophy on life, music, society, etc etc etc is fine
by me.

I do kinda understand what you mean about feeling older than
you actually are.

I'm getting back pains....at 20! What the fuck??

Must be all that crouching on the floor in front of the
fireplace as a kid trying to keep warm...or maybe it's the 4
years I spent hunchbacked in a chair playing DOOM and Quake
during my secondary school days.

All I can say is that you are however old you feel you are
(I know that's a cliche, but it's true in my eyes anyways).
It's not vain to have some youthfulness in you, it is if
you're the kind of person who, at 35 would still go around
houses and play Knock & Run, or something like that....let
me rephrase...that's not vainity that's just childishness

lol

Am I making sense?

ummmmmmm I dunno, probably not

your thinking

I am 21 and I'm starting to lose my hair, just like my
father.

I hate him for giving me bad genes.

oscillik > i know it's not useless to have youthness in your
mind... it just seems to me that youthness is vain... even
though it is vain, it is not useless, and well, maybe
everything is vain so........

(i'm not making sense either ' _ ')

Monoid > and YOU are telling ME about
getting thinking cleared? ; P

I'm 20... and pretty immature... and I'm glad... maturity
sucks... and those who think otherwise don't have any fun!

hey uzim, you're still very young even if you don't feel
like it. You have a whole life ahead of you to fill with
whatever experiences you want. Follow your own passions and
interests. You don't need to put so much stock into what
your peers are doing. It may be good for them, but doesn't
have to be good for you. Some of the things you list as
vain really are, but then again, you may surprise yourself
one day, and enjoy something at 27 that you didn't value at
17. Try to surround yourself with people that don't
alienate you.

Just my two cents. Take care.

i think i can relate uzim. i feel the same way at times.
it's like i went from being a kid to an adult without
experiencing anything in between. i can't help but think
about all the things i missed out on during high school and
the beginning of college. you know, those "normal" things
like meeting new people, hanging out with friends, parties,
girls, etc. now i gotta face going out into the real world
and adult life, but in the back of my mind i still feel a
void.

"but in the bad way : /"

how so?

Just be yourself man... that's all you can do... and if
you're really shy, well trust me, I know what that is
like... I used to be REALLY shy, and I still am far from
outgoing... but I'm more confident in myself now, in the
person I am, because I started having the philosophy of
"Well, this is who I am, if you don't like it fuck you!"...
that's all you can do... you can't expect to find realy
friends, and real love by being someone you aren't... and
you can't expect people to like you if they don't...

but yeah, all shyness is is a fear... all fears can be
overcome... I know it's easier said then done, but just
throw yourself into situations, and then try and deal... I
was frightened to death about coming over here to The
Netherlands... but here I am, and everything has been
great... I don't know if that made any sense, but there you
go! :)

very down to earth and understanding.. no loss at all :)

Im 17 as well. I film myself fucking around with my friends
sometimes and most people think thast really immature. But i
skate and watch alot of CKY videos and everyone fucks around
and has a great time so i couldnt care less.

But these are the same people who ive seen change over the
years, mostly music wise but also most of them go to the gym
to buffen up and thats very sad indeed.

I feel the same, Naaic. I dunno, the problem might be
myself... but I really hated all the people that regularly
threw "parties". The people that went to my school were
fucking hard-ons who most likely joined a fraternity and got
sodomized as their initiation.

I need to move to a big city.

Why is that sad ?! If they do it to feel better, I see no
problem with going to the gym.

change.

You remind me of me when I was 17... and 18... and 19... and
now 20. And 21 in a few months. Life is always just one big
dirge of monotony, I just temper it with music, video games
and excessive masturbation. It's too bad you're not into the
latter, it helps!
