Holland, Spain and Turkey is the best teams I think. Russia
will also win. Croatia and Slovenia are open, but I think
Croatia is the best team.

i was watching a comment by croatian selector last night, he
said that he'd like to play against slovenia, but surely
they'll get a tougher opponent...
you have no idea how would i like to see slovenia beat them
- they think they're so superior (which probably is true
hehe), but they're so full of them seves when it come to
football
and we're in this funny situation with croatia at the
moment...they want to make some restrictions on the adriatic
sea, and we are obviously against that...so now its all down
to football :)

if they put that young stiker (i think he plays for dinamo)
in, they have a pretty good chance, but they always force
their older players - even better they force themselves

de pedro will possibly play in the eurocup but not now.

the coach is giving oportunity to some young talents, and d
epedro is one of the sacrified along with morientes for
example.

hierro will never play for spain again, he retired from the
national team last worldcup.

he plays now in the Qatar league

I remember that match very good yes. But since then, Norway
has become a really poor football-team. Carew will not play,
because he is in an argument with the coach, but players
like Riise and Solskjær will be there I hope. Norways old
coach Egil Drillo Olsen gave Norway 15% chance beating Spain
out.

Damn those lucky Scots, Iceland have a much better team and
should be playing Netherland for a place in the finals :(

1)Norway are utter crap and dont stand a remote chance
against Spain.
2)Croatia will probably win against Slovenia but it will be
close.
3)Scotland will be humiliated against the Netherlands. The
insanely optimistic Sauerkraut Berti Vogts will choke on his
nerdy sausage arrogance...
4)Russia vs. Wales will be very very close. If they win the
first leg at home with more than 1 goal they will progress
otherwise not.
5)Turkey will probably beat Latvia but I think this might be
surprisingly evenly matched.

Italy will then go on and win Euro 2004....

You couldnt be further from the truth as most of our players
play in England and Belgia and Germany......
Eidur Gudjonsen(Chelsea) Our star player, one of the better
strikers in the world., Joey Gudjonsson(Wolves)
, Hermann Hreidarsson(charlton), Runar Kristinsson(Genk),
Thordur Gudjonsson all top quality players....and i could go
on.
Now finally when we have a decent coach in Sigurvinsson we
will crush crap kick-and-run teams like Scotland and Norway
any given time.....

I think norway is better at football than iceland, actually
I think that there is no real comparison.

when has Iceland had such players as solskjaer, flo, carew,
berg...??

solskjaer is really one of the best strikers in the world

lol your are a funny spanish biatch!

Gudjohnsen was rated at least equal to Ronaldo when they
were at PSV so dont tell me he isnt top quality. Some bad
injuries until to today but when Eidur gets to regularly
play he has proven to be utterly lethal in his link-up
play.

Norway are just an utterly boring long ball crappy team and
so is Scotland. Iceland is getting better all the time while
Norway is now decending into the lower league of european
football. Iceland have shown their strenght by drawing
France and Germany(deserved to win them actually last
month). Cant see boring Norway getting a result like that in
this new century......

well actually norway is still capable of playing the eurocup
(I hope not) while iceland are already eliminated.... as
almost everytime.
(while norway is often in the final stage of every
championshiop, and has some nice teams as rosemborg that is
always or many times in second league of champions league)

and please dont try to even compare Ronaldo with that
Gudjohnsen... it would be ridiculous.

and yes I am a "funny spanish biatch"

Rank/ Team/ Points Sep 2003/ Rank Aug
48.... Iceland .....557 .............56

Rank / Team /Points Sep 2003 /Rank Aug 2003
25 .....Norway ....635 ..............22

so
norway is place 25 actually for fifa rankings
while iceland is 48

end of discussion

Yep. Nothing to discuss, really
:)
And Ronaldo=Gudjohnsen. Well....funny but Gudjohnsen is
pretty fucking far from being a Ronaldo.

offline addi b from Reykjavík (Iceland) on 2003-10-16 08:01 [#00904109]

At the moment under Sigurvinsson Iceland is a very organized
and strong team who play a short pass 3-5-2 while Norway are
boring lang ball team who play 4-5-1 and rely on luck to
create goal scoring chances.
I agree its ridiculous to compare Ronaldo and Gudjohnsen as
they play 2 totally different positions. Despite not being a
natural out and out striker Eidur still was the groups top
scorer with 5 goals from 8 games which speaks for itself.

I really hope Norway and Scotland dont progress through
Spain and Holland(no chance of that actually) It would be a
crime against humanity.......

For the last 50 years Iceland have been amatures in
Football. Now that we have a lot of pro´s we will soon
reach the Finals both in Euro and WCup and start ruling over
this fucking planet in the process!

Because Iceland had an idiot for a coach in the first 3
games (where we lost twice against Scotland) ,when we
finally changed the real quality of the team was shown.
Im not saying Iceland are one of the best teams in the world
right now but were a heck of a better team than lousy Norway
and Scotland. You little spanish cunt will have have to ram
my icelandic football cock down your throat when Iceland
will reach WCup ´06

I will be happy for you whenever iceland reaches a worldcup
or a eurocup... I am also sure that iceland is making huge
progress in football in the last years, so great for you and
great for world football too.

but nowadadys norway is still way better... at least in
results...

I remember norway in france 98 beating brazil 2-1 and
therefor passing through 1/8 finals

I remember norway beating spain 1-0 in euro2000 too

Dont worry Im not trying to take this to far, just aiming
for a good laugh here :)

but you keep refering to Norway of the old 5years ago and
beyond. Im more into the present developements of the last
1-2 years and into the future, Im afraid your compairing
apples and oranges here. The Icelandic team is now growing
very very rapidly with a lot of our players getting into
better clubs.

I think Icelands squad is at least equal to Norways but we
have a better coach and formation=better team.....

Lets just see what the future brings but it should be more
on Icelands side

but I was not only talking about past, in fact who is
already with possibilities of clasifying and who is not?

anyway, I get your point, and I wish iceland all the luck in
future

and by the way, I am glad that you like football so much, so
do I .

you will have lots of oportunity to talk about football on
