I have a problem with it...the school has already written off the abilities of these students. There have been many cases where so called "special educational needs" students have been unbeleivably gifted in other areas and because of lack of interest from the schools and lack of exploritoration of talents they go unidentified until later life when it is often to difficult and late to constructively use them.

Because even for someone with a decent education once they have passed the age of about 23 without having full time employment experience in a specialist field it becomes very difficult for them to get a decent job. Now if you have an educative background which has not pushed you, it is even harder again.
