Opera is great and all, but if you are a webdesigner and
want to see your webpage as it ACTUALLY looks, you shouldn't
use Opera

Well, my computer is a piece of unstable crap, so yeah, it
tends to crash a couple times a day. But the great thing is,
when you re-open it, it automatically loads everything you
were viewing before. But my Internet Explorer crashes even
more. So Opera is better in every way for me.

aight :)
Apart from the fact that it crashes occasionally, it's a
killer application, and the M2 makes it even better

that is so NOT true - but then again, if you're unable to
design webpages that work equally well with the most used
browsers (NS, IE & Opera), then you're no fucking good :)

this

my site...doesn't do the flashy dhtml fadi-in in Opera.
Dhtml is nothing new, so why couldn't the put this feature
in there too.
Then the buttons looks strange. Then there is no colored
scrollbar that isn't colored at all. And last but not least,
the whole 'box' should be in the middle of the site, NOT in
the top.
And I fucking hate the shitty 'tabs' in the browser...why
can't they make it act like IE, but be stable like Opera

well, Opera supports web standards outlined by the world
wide web consortium. No other brower does this to the same
extent as Opera, so basically, when a site is displayed
properly in for example Internet Explorer, you can bet your
ass that the html code is not w3c compliant, and therefore
it will look shitty in a w3c compliant browser

The colored scrollbars is css, and as far as I know, it is
not valid css

And, dhtml is nasty shit, stay away from it.

Regarding the box in the middle of the site, I see your
problem, and I guess you've set a heigt attribute for you
table, which, also, is not w3c standard.

w3c my ASS!!!!!!

fuck if the web were up to those guys we were still in
two-color Times New Roman mode...

shit...god dammit...they finally make a good browser, and
then they take all the fun outta pagemaking

I have no problems making my pages work in the three biggest
- but your w3 comment is partially true, but then again, if
shitty whore browsers such as IE could focus LESS on
non-standard html, and follow a generalized standard
instead, it'd make webdesign a hell of alot easier.

but really, there's no problem designing a site that
functions equally good in most browsers, you just need to
tweak the html code a bit

im quite sure the w3c is making more css standards
"standard". hell, i design all my pages in css only, no
tables, and very little html.

DHTML is in fact a form of advanced java script, is it not?
at least there's a striking resemblance between the two.

The only difference between your site in Opera vs IE, is
that the table is centered, the dhtml seems to work and the
scrollbars are fine - but, Netscape displays the page
exactly the same way that Opera does, so the conclusion has
to be that IE is running based on it's own standards, which
is partially true. They are responsible for inventing a lot
of the non standard html shit that is only compliant with
their browser. Microsoft's way to gain more marked shares.

okey, well then you might as well just stick to making
websites exclusively for people who use Internet Explorer,
which is basically what you're doing. I'm not saying it's
wrong or anything, lot's of people do it, but I do think
it's a bit non-professional. And here I am, not even
educated on the subject, I've merely learned from myself.

One thing I do know is this: webpages should be made
cross-browser compatible to the maximum extent possible - of
course, you can never cover them all, but to cover the basic
three (O, IE, NS) is to me crucial.

But hey, that's me in a nutshell :)
