New Track - Return to Me

120bpm, 4:30 long, 128kbps
Hard to describe, solidish beats, more fun with granulizers
for samplers, weird riffs that sound kind of liek the songs
being held together by a piece of string for the first half
but swells in the second half a bit.

Orange Dust - Return To Me

Also the title is about me wanting my girl back from the
jaws of the UK. Like right now. Now.

Shit yeah.

PS if you listen I hope you enjoy it - I really liek it but
I'm not sure it will be to everyone's tastes, I'm sorry if
it's not

hum......two points

this may well be first track from you that I am not well ace
all over, but the second point is that

it's your music mate, your technical skills are such that
you can take your music anywhere. If this is where you want
to go, by all means do not let anyone tell you otherwise.

I just didn't like how the notes in the beginning seem
random. The body of the song is great, but the beginning
ruined the rest for me.

Again though, it's made so well, that I still apprecitate
it. Don't take any shit from anyone od!

been doing a bit of listening

i found the glitches kinda painful.. tho i know my taste is
for understated stuff right now :) saright! the first minute
stand-alone seems perfect

i checked a couple of the others, self destruct sounds how
the chris clark i like does.. liked this one the most

roam was a similar problem to this new one for me, the
glitching sounds great for a while but gets overdone. i
think everything else about it was excellent

Yeah basically I wastryign to do something a little
different but still have it sounds like....me.
So I wasn't really that confident with it.

The beginning notes sound very prescise to me, but then
again I made the trk :P
The vibraphone stuff is what I think needs to be changed.

and maybe some of the blips.

as for overdone glitches - yeah i just liek to pack as much
in sonically as i can - i get bored of little fluips here
and there with the same FX....at least i've stoipped using
the buffer override that shit is *really* generic glitch,
i'm more into the granular shit now

thanks for listening everyone

What, is "buffer override" like ... a plug-in for fruity
loops or something?

offline od_step_cloak from Pleth (Australia) on 2003-10-08 18:56 [#00895253]

dfx buffer override vst plugin

can be used for glitching but it's a really generic
glitching thing and can make annopying tones and stuff.

do a search for the dfx site (destroy fx) on google or sumn

Ok, I wonder if it would work in modplug tracker.

Heh, it says that Tom 7 made this plugin
(http://www.smartelectronix.com/users/destroyfx/). That's
awesome to know. I love Tom 7's music @ mp3.com and liked
his computer related page

i liked it but the descending keyboard riff was a bit too
simple in sound and melody.. orbital were doing that stuff
in '89 and '90 and moved on

the fake turntables are cool, so was the liquid farting bass
intro, and your snares are always nice.. what effect do you
put on them?

i can see this being a fun song to dance to at a high school
homecoming... make it happen, cap'n

overall not one of my favorites from you but still good

I can understand not liking the melody coz yeah i agree -
it's shit, BUT
saying ".. orbital were doing that stuff in '89 and '90
and moved on "

is kind of dumb.

Does this mean no one can do stuff that ae did in Incunabula
etc?
Can I not use any tricks from the Prodigy Experience?

Man people were using breakbeats back then aswell, just coz
ae have moved on to making stuff liek gantz graf, does this
mean all breakbeats are now passe?

I'm not having a shot at ya, just pointing this out.
Mainly it's coz I'm not in the game to do new stuff.
Just dancey shit.

Sorry if that sounbds more negative thn it was meant to be
:)

i don't think it's "dumb", i was just saying it's tired and
doesn't add anything.. you can do and have done better.
breakbeats are a whole nother thing; there're tons of
breaks. i was just referring to this specific melody style
which is pretty limited (the descending keyboard line loop).
it's cool for dancing to, no doubt, but you've done better
riffs.

offline od_step_cloak from Pleth (Australia) on 2003-10-21 20:33 [#00913023]

uhh wellll it wasn't a "descending" keyboard loop, I just
hit a bunch of notes that I liked I didn't even noticed they
were descending till just then.

it just seems liek a crap point to call out "your keyboard
loops sucks coz the notes go down all the time"
I mean wtf?

Like I said I'm not arguing - it's crap, but that's a weird
point to call out,.

eh fuck it never mind man

the lop sucks coz the notes descend.

you're being very defensive, i was trying to be polite. i
enjoyed the song, i enjoy ALL your work, you don't have to
belittle me for offering constructive criticism. i didn't
say keyboard lines shouldn't descend or anything stupid like
that. it's the WAY this descends. it's just over simplistic
and you've done more interesting riffs than just "down
staircase" (to use a lame metaphor). if you disagree that's
fine but i've studied music theory and music history (like a
lot of people here) so i thought i'd offer a different
perspective than just talking about the beat or the sounds.
