hecker - sun pandamonium

what a wicked album...
the second track is really crazy, annoying in a good way
(hehe, does such thing exist?) and it is over 20 minutes
long...it just hits you right in the brain, scary stuff

here's a short comment from a ticket on the cover (it doesnt
say who is it by), i agree with it 100%
"it's one of the most beautifully recorded bits of
unpleasantness i've ever heard"

check it out!!!

isn't hecker noise?

its ok, i didnt think it was all that... track 2 was prob
best, i hate the ones that just sounds liek things dropping.
like 5secs of silence then a drop. repeatedly

whever i search for hecker on soulseek it comes up with this
other 'tim hecker' character

i like tim hecker much more, but this particular album is
pretty interesting

cuntychuck, he does different things, but i guess he's best
known by his noise :)
(btw, he's on mego)

This is what noise should be.

ive changed my mind, its an excellent album

track 2 is scary shit

its all very good, listen to it very loud or on headphones

i wonder if he has any new stuff coming out

great album,
i wonder how he makes these sounds, if they are just
randomness or.. whatever

Yeah - I was wondering how someone goes about "composing" an
album of this sort. Do you think he just messes around
until he finds something he likes?

isn't that basically what all music is made like? :)

but i wouldn't mind finding out how he does it, either...

have you got any other hecker? i've only got [OT] Xackpy
Breakpoint .. but its a bit too sparse. rumour has it that
that one has some sub sonic frequencies on it (?) and if you
turn your stereo up too loud it will melt your speakers. i
did see my bass cones move (in and out real slow) without
hearing anything!!!/?

offline tolstoyed from the ocean on 2004-01-19 14:11 [#01040813]

i think im going to skip this release then, heh, wouldn't
want my speakers ruined :)

i don't think i have any other albums by him, actually im
not sure which hecker he is - is he florian?
i have that other hecker, who'd usually working with miss
kittin, different stuff tho.

florian!

had the pleasure of seeing him live some years ago!! (wasn't
anything like sun pandamonium though!!! .. some mashed up
jungle breaks, dutch porn samples, more mashing up etc.!!!)

that's the hacker yr talkin about... sun pandämonium is by
florian, yes. i'm lovin' the new sluta leta on mego. it's
the shit.

i think im going to check it out either way :)

korben...i wouldn't mind seeing him live playing some weird
stuff either :)

sluta leta is kinda hip-hop-beatsy...

Hecker is unfathomable digital violence... Stolcha Acid
Vlook is crazy as fuck... but i don't find myself listening
to it very often for the same reasons tolstoyed listed...

it was really cool to listen to while i was on mushrooms,
though...
blaeurgh!!!!!!SADTW$^

offline korben dallas from nz on 2004-01-19 18:37 [#01041080]

sluta leta eh? sounds interesting.

tolstoyed .. when i meant mashing up, i meant audio
molestation. not exactly amen jungle mash ups, more
10001010000101010 jungle .. but yes, a pandämonium style
gig would be pretty lush too!!! .. how far is austria from
llubj...(etc. ?) : surely him and his mego buddies have some
pretty nasty gigs in wien?

way.

sluta leta streamed mp3's .. i'm on dial up so i only get 3 second
clips :/

wien. i hope i can find some info about his gigs on mego.
the last time i was checking some of mego artist were
playing at some festival in budapest, but that's pretty
far...i think hecker plays mostly in uk (don't they all
heh), but yeah i'll check.

i have no doubt in that...it doesn't happen often you get to
see aphex and funk playing at the same festival...not to
mention all the others that were there :)

Isn't the fact that you find them annoying one of the main
reasons you dislike autechre so much?

I like quite a bit of noise, generally mego-related stuff
but also a fair amount of merzbow.
