For those not familiar with Rush Limbaugh here is a brief summary. He's been on radio since the late 70's spewing forth conservative right-wing fundamentalist politics to this very day. He has a loud mouth and wont hesitate to hang up on you if you have a very good argument which may jeopardize his character or the politics he is defending. Over the course of his years on radio, he has spoken harshly to drug users (both casual responsible drug users and the 'i need serious help' drug users) with condemnation and a lack of compassion. He refers to them as 'hippies', etc. And lets not forget that he is a die hard Bush supporter, racist, and hippocrite. Now for you telling how Rush also went deaf from overdose and why he had to get surgery on his ears. Enjoy. |

As much as I think Rush is an evil slug I feel sorry for anyone who suffers from hearing loss. BTW the article says he went deaf because of an autoimmune ear disorder, not because of the drugs. That's how he got started on painkillers too I guess. |

well he's not deaf now, but I read somewhere else that he had a rapid hearing loss all of a sudden, and that coincidentally - combining two of the drugs he took would cause rapid hearing loss if they we're abused. It wasn't an 'old age' thing. |

It's the same story over and over again - network hires rabid dog, dog bites someone, network acts surprised. MSNBC did it with Michael Savage (who makes Rush look like a complete fumbling amateur in the hating and self loathing departments). |

This story did make me chuckle (a lot)...I SOOOOOOO hope the drug abuse thing turns out to be true... I ain't gonna lose any sleep over the suffering of such a hate filled person...I'm so glad he never really made it over to the UK... |

Being from Philly, I was thinking that the whole McNabb thing was going to be a local story (we take our football very seriously and if anyone says anything about our "baby," we attack). I certainly didn't expect to see posts on electronic music message boards about Rush and his dangerously outmoded viewpoints. Good thing it blew up (inter)nationally to expose this hypocrite for what he is--a racist and a (alleged) closet drug abuser. Related to the outrageous comments Rush (never has a name fit the man WORSE) spewed is the fact that ESPN (ABC=Disney) hired him to be outrageous! And they don't back him when he says something like this? Hypocrites, all! Enough of that. [d] |
