click

i might as well post this while it's still available, seeing
as how the RIAA are now going after 66 year old women and
indie record shops selling mixtape rap cd's. it's a great
site i stumbled upon a few months ago; has a really
interesting history on sampling/copyright law and a ton of
mp3's (many used with permission) of songs that were
pioneering and/or just really interesting social commentary.
it's part of the larger site illegal-art.org.

illegal art? so it is illegal to be arty? or to experience
art? but wait, they don't care about us stealing the art,
it's that missing dollar.....phhh and metallica can lick my
hairy ball trina represent smaller bands who don't have
money because 16 yr old jimmy downloaded their songs.
somehow these stars still seem to be able to afford making
million-dollar video clips, staying in the best hotels,
travelling by private jet, eating the best (food and women)
but they need more, they deserve more money for their hard
work, well let me ask you hard working artist.....what
about mr.smith who has been working his ass off 7 days a
week, 80 hours....thinking i am still hardly managing to
feed my kids....those very kids who are downloading your
music because they can't afford to go out and buy
everysingle cd that comes out, so mr.smith should now pay a
fine which will make him bankrupt and put his family on the
street, while you're receiving your missing dollar to hit
that bar one more time, think asshole think....there are
things in life larger than yourself, like your ego

Downloading songs is theft. Pure and fucking simple. Don't
give us any of that "Oh, I just wanted to see what they were
like before i bought the album" shit. You're stealing right
out of the artists' pockets. Out of my fucking pocket. You
thieving little bastards. All of you. Oh, and i bet you
think you're so subversive with your shitty file-sharing
programs. Giving a big two-fingers up to THE MAN. How brave!
I bet you'd all be cacking your pants and grassing up your
own grannies if the police got anywhere near your computers.

Bill identity theft is far worse than peddling piddly MP3
files. Now be a real sport change your name and let the dead
guy RIP!

what of the other tracks available for download were you
familiar with? a lot of it was new to me.. the "they aren't
the world" mp3 is hilarious, i wonder if that made much of a
dent when it came out.

interesting quote on that site:

"In truth, literature, in science and in art, there are, and
can be, few, if any things, which in an abstract sense are
strictly new and original throughout. Every book in
literature, science, and art borrows, and must necessarily
borrow, and use much which was well known and used before."
-- Supreme Court Justice David Souter

great article and i've had that site bookmarked for a
while.....tis a GOOD THING....ehhehehe

haha look who's back!
Unfortunately, there's nothing you (all) can do about it.
People will always find new ways to spread (illegal) music.
You should see music more as 'information' rather than
'stuff'. These channels are so much easier to create and
harder to stop.

I heard that illegal music in the form of mp3s resulted in
more people buying music because now they can sample
better...

You heard wrong, you gullible fool. Record sales are at an
all time low. New artists are being dropped by their
hundreds. Record companies are looking more and more for the
fast buck from personalities as opposed to developing any
real new talent. And it's all thanks to you and your illegal
downloading. Don't give us that shit like " I bought
wankspanners new cd because i d/l ed one of the tracks and
really loved it" because it doesn't cut any mustard with me.

bought less cd's.

still it's true. Those low record sales are not only the
fault of us downloading more. The whole economy is pretty
bad. CD prices became way too high the past years.
