OD BoC RMX (1:42)

offline od_step_cloak from Pleth (Australia) on 2003-09-17 08:20 [#00867128]
Points: 3803 Status: Regular

I remixed a song by BoC without even knowing the original's
name. Such things are important (seriously though can
someone tell me it's name)

It's the little synth ditty trk8 on MHTRTC which I have on
CD-R coz I'm cheap and dirty and haven't bought it....YET.

Anyways my version is up here
od.boc.rmx
I only did it tonight over a small space of time, but I like
the way it came out.
Just a small little thing.

Thankyou for your time.

It's straight to the point and there is no point in making
it longer then it has to be.

i have been meaning to buy a couple of their albums to see
what they are like, what BoC album would you recomend to a
first time listener?

Also, nice weather we're having in Newbury ay? :)

oh yeah I've gotten into them quite a lot recently. Some of
their stuff is still a little....patient for me (I come from
a background of breakbeats and drum n bass and acid and that
kind of shit so I'm still sort of getting used to it).

BoC however have this weird dreamlike quality about their
music which really is something hard to find elsewhere.
Amazing stuff!

Thakyou both very much I'm glad you liked it :)

Oh (and sorry for posting too much in my own thread, it's
really kidn of rude isn't it!) incase you are one of the few
people who haven't heard the original, I worked out the
basslien from their song (the synth riff that solo's in the
intro of the rmx) and used a JX10 VSTi to replicate the riff
and then everything else was me fuckign around for an hour
earlier on tonight.

no problem, it is a shame you have had no other feedback.

now i am quite the opposite to you as far as my xltronic
music tastes are concerned, don't get me wrong, i don't mind
a few beats n bass every now and again, but patience is
something i have a lot of when it comes to music

Erm on topic, any of it it's all really good it dosen't
matter where you start.

Music has the right to children or hi-scores is probably a
good place to start.

ta, can you recomend any specific tracks from those albums,
i like to download and check out and artist before i part
with my hard earned cash, if i like what i hear then i will
always support and artist financially.

Also, if you didn't go to St Bart's school then i doubt that
we know each other, even if you did i still doubt it, wrong
year and all :(

Sorry od_step_cloak for abusing your topic like this

cool remix od_step_cloak. Sounds more "industrial" than the
original kaini industries. :)

that makes at least OD, zeus, and myself who have remixed
this track (i made mine in under 20 minutes, it's funny,
quirky, and little else)

i like your remix OD, kind of '80s industrial/EBM sounding.
i don't like your recreating of the synth line much but the
rest is good.

LOL I'm doing another mroe upbeat version. I don't know
why.
This is possibly the easiest song to remix EVAR.
All you gotta do is figure out the synth notes.
Hint = if you start in "D" they're all white keys.

offline od_step_cloak from Pleth (Australia) on 2003-09-17 22:47 [#00867991]

Oh yeah I'll post the other ver in this thread, coz I mean
two threads for remixes by the same guy of the same song is
kind of lame, so uhh if you're interested in hearing the
other version, it'll be in here. thankyou!

PS tits - What exakkly you not liking about the synth? It's
not ..square enough I do't think.. the sound is a bit preset
JX10....is that what you felt or what?

i just didn't like the voice.. too flat and dull.. if you're
gonna change it it should stay in the same range i think

the.....voice?

I think the synth was....kind of similar....???
Oh well mate I think I know what you mean

John + Blatant - cheerz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111oneoneone

keyboard voice.. that's the term

i didn't find it too similar.. i wasn't crazy about
recreating the synth line instead of sampling it, but if
you're going to do it i think you could do it better, either
more similar or just completely wild
