I'm not a big fan of the acoustic genre..... but the song
Volcano got me addicted to Damien Rice.... I love it ! I
don't really know what I love about it (thinks of subliminal
conspiracies)... anyone else know the song ?

PeaceLove

my gf is crazy about mr rice, went to see him in amsterdam.
i like it ok, but the album tends to make me weep it is so
fucking melancholy.

volcano is a great song, yessir

its a clichéd term (right now i cant think of a better one)
but it is a very heart-on-sleeve record.. hence your weepy
experiences. but theres nowt wrong with that once in a
while.
on first listen it sounds kind of melodramatic in places,
but with time it makes a lot more sense. nice to see what
could have been another straightfwd acoustic guitar record
trying some interesting ideas out.
how was he live?

sometimes the drama gets to me, killing the passion for
me...

according to my gf, he was amazing, joking between songs
etc. harmonies were really good with the backing singer from
the album joining him on stage. they teased with that uber
wellknown white stripes song, too :)

josh ritter was there too, he got the crowd to quiet down
during his last song where he just played guitar and sang,
no amplification at all. a quiet crowd... that's rare :)
