i bought i on play.com and they delivered it yesterday,
arrived today. Hahaha.

Its the official CD, but it doesnt even register when i try
to find the track listing online. Haha. Its so awesome. It
has anti-burning capabilities, but my burner is still
managing, just taking 5 times as long.

Not that impressed with it atm to be honest, the first track
sounds just like Our Lady Peace until it kicks in...

Hopefully a grower.

Oh boo hoo, negative comments. Talking about elitism in the
other thread, you and titsworth are just as guilty regarding
this band...

Anyway, this album is by no means awesome but does have some
enjoyable moments. The opening track is by far the worst -
total fucking gash - but onwards from that it gets far
better. There does seem to be a slight songwriting dip - and
an overcomplicated production job to compensate - but it's
an agreeable enough noise in the background. Nothing life
changing.

how am i elitist? i'm just saying you're extremely negative
about non-metal rock music. it's impossible to reach your
standards.

OK, I was just slightly miffed by your comment. I do like a
LOT of rock music - if you saw my CD collection you'd be
surprised/amazed/dismayed - but yeah, I do think that the
stuff that is heralded as amazing these days can't hold a
candle to some of the seminal rock that came out before it,
which I still listen to daily. I mean one of my favourite
bands is Wilt (from Ireland) and they're very wimpy rock,
but they have written some fantasic songs - that seems to be
lacking recently.

why would i be dismayed? i want people to like all types of
music. i know you like more rock than just metal but you're
just harshly and i dare say unfairly critical of non-metal
rock, IMO.

You'd be dismayed at some of the shocking releases I have...
not that I'm going to reveal any of them

I may be frank and sometimes overly aggressive but I treat
everything fairly. I just say it as it is in MY OPINION.
That's all it is, and if I see if differently to you then we
disagree, that's all. See what you think of this record when
you get it and if you still disagree with my comments...

its quite different. Less acousticy 'girlie' songs [in other
words, its more rocky, more moody]. Sounds a bit too much
like a tool imitator in parts, but i think the album as a
whole is a lot better than mer de noms. Their first album
seemed to trail off into shitsville after track 6. This one
is strong throughout.
